Dr. Brooks is recognized for his outstanding leadership and advocacy for the optometric profession. As former chair of the OAOP Key Person Network, he has played a key role in building relationships with legislators and advancing important initiatives, such as vision plan reform (HB 1979).

OAOP’s 2026 Leadership Optometry class met for the first time last weekend to discuss their upcoming year, sit in a board of directors meeting and participate in our Legislative Summit. This year Leadership Optometry is legislatively focused, working to support bills that create fair regulations for vision plans (SB 1343) and ensure optometrists are adequately reimbursed for their work (HB 3928)! We appreciate their commitment and the time they are putting in to becoming leaders in Oklahoma Optometry!
