Last weekend, two of my long-time students graduated from their respective high schools. I already posted about them separately, but David and Connor's piano journeys overlap so much that I also wanted to write about the two of them together.

David began lessons with me in 2012. He and Connor went to the same elementary school, and David brought Connor as his guest on "Bring a Friend Day" in 2016. Connor began lessons with me a few months later. They've played duets together ever since, even when they went to different schools.

I have been so honored to teach these young men. Both have become outstanding players. With strong initiative and self-discipline, they have learned complex and demanding pieces that they chose for themselves, expressing their individual and sophisticated musical tastes. Their remarkable progress was due to their own drive, diligence, and determination to reach specific goals that they set for themselves. I was just a sideline coach. I am so proud of them and look forward to hearing about their future endeavors!

Congratulations to Connor Pesik, DCA class of 2025! Connor will study Business at UT Knoxville this fall.

Connor loves to play up-tempo, dramatic pieces from video games, movie themes, and recently has started exploring jazz.

Connor has been a joy to teach and I know he will be successful with whatever he chooses to focus on!

Congratulations to David Vargas, MLK Jr Class of 2025! In August, David will begin his study of Immigration Law at Middle Tennessee State University.

David has always loved playing classical pieces, especially by Chopin, Beethoven, Mozart and Debussy.

David has been my student for 13 years, which is the record for the most years anyone has taken from me! I am so proud and honored to have been his teacher and am excited for what his future holds!
