Meal Tips for Seniors
Eating fruits and vegetables are non-negotiable for our diet. But aside from these, what should a senior eat or avoid?
- Choose food without a lot of extra calories
Fruits and vegetables form part of this group. Seafood, beans, nuts, eggs, whole grains, and fat-free milk are also good options.
- Avoid food with high cholesterol, fat content, and with empty calories
Animal fats and processed fats are the most dangerous ones. Chips, candy, soda, and alcohol have huge amount of calories but few nutrients. Avoid them.
- Drink enough healthy liquids, especially water.
