This bake might be my favorite creation yet.
✨ Almond Croissant Focaccia ✨

When the line between bread and pastry blurs in the best possible way.
Homemade almond paste folded into focaccia dough, more piped on top, deep buttery dimples, cinnamon sugar, sea salt, and toasted almonds. It baked until golden and fragrant, then got brushed with almond syrup while still warm so the crust stayed crisp but the inside stayed tender and airy.

A cozy, fragrant bake that feels like something between a pastry and a hug.

Would you try a slice of this, or should I make a chocolate almond version next time? 😋

😍 Simple & yummy 😋 handhelds are fast to make, easy to customize, freezeable, & reheatable.

Sausage Rolls by Rene
1 pkg Pillsbury pizza crust
1 pkg Johnsonville Better Cheddar sausages (6)
6 slices Oscar Meyer thick sliced bacon
1 egg yolk (optional)
Toothpicks

1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Prepare the Baking Sheet: Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it to prevent sticking.

3. Prepare the Dough:
- Unroll the pizza dough on a flat surface.
- Cut the dough into three equal rectangles.
- Slice each rectangle diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner, forming long isosceles triangles.

4. Assemble the Rolls:
- Place a sausage at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll the dough around the sausage, starting from the wide end and rolling towards the point. Press gently to seal the end of the dough.

5. Egg Wash:
- Separate the egg, reserving the white for another use.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of water.
- Use a pastry brush to lightly brush the egg yolk mixture over each rolled sausage.

6. Wrap with Bacon:
- Wrap a slice of bacon around each dough-covered sausage.
- Secure the bacon with toothpicks at each end to keep it in place.

7. Bake:
- Place the assembled rolls on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and the bacon is crispy.

8. Serve:
- Remove the toothpicks and serve hot.

Enjoy!😉

Passion to Create

I have always cooked. I don't remember a time in my life when I didn't. As the oldest of 7 children and 42 grandchildren it is just what I did. Somewhere along the line it became more than a chore. It became a passion, therapy and a way to show my love for those around me. The process of creating beautiful and delicious food is more than do I have the ingredients and the time. It is emotion as well. I feel that some art you look at, contemplate and feel, some art you are able to look at, feel and eat! LOL I love both. Creating food that is both at the same time familiar but somehow taken to a new level is what I like to do best. It is wonderful to see family and customers’ eyes open wide and say OMG I didn't know this could taste like this! What did you do differently? When I cook, bake or even when I create a floral arrangement, I look at the entire spectrum of possibility. Yes, this calls for salt, but is there a more fragrant salt that would work better, would a different flake create a better delivery of flavor and mouth feel. I try to create the very best product that an item could be and then continue to tweak it. Smell, taste, and feel are all sensations of cooking and eating there are certain scents which have deep emotional ties, food has many ways of capturing our imagination. So, I guess I love the process of the creating as much as the eating... well almost!
