What do you do when someone you love with all your heart has Stage 5 Kidney Failure (ESRD) and there's nothing you can do to help? That's how this page was born. Felipe Sahagun III, known to all his friends and family as Tony Sahagun, is a loving, dedicated, and hardworking grandfather, father (+ dance dad), husband, uncle, brother, son, and friend. He is the kind of person that would drop anything to be there for you and to do what he can to help you, and that is why we are asking for your help so that we can return the favor.
It is a very difficult thing for Tony to talk about and share, so that is why it took so long to share that his kidneys are shutting down. He is on the waitlist for a kidney at UNMC Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE. The average time to be on this waitlist he was told is 4-6 years, so the wait has just begun. His best chance at getting a kidney and getting back to his normal active life is the generous donation from a living donor. Tony is type O+, but he can accept type O+ AND type O-. UNMC also has a great paired donation program, no matter your blood type, you can donate and it will allow for two incompatible recipients to "swap" and receive more compatible kidneys.
If you, or someone you know, feels called to help please reach out to Nebraska Medicine at the following link or phone number: NebraskaMed.com/Transplant/Kidney | 1-800-401-4444
Donor Info: Felipe Sahagun | DOB: 08/24/1972
We would really appreciate it if you would invite and share with your friends and family!
