Tis' the season to be spooky!
Halloween is great fun, but can also lend itself to some misconceptions about death for kids because of the common visual and story examples of zombies, ghosts, mummys, the grim reaper, or other imaginary characters that either evade or return from the dead.

You can help clear these misconceptions by using concrete language (dead, dying, dead) when referring to death that happens in your life AND by reiterating that these fun characters are just a part of Halloween imagination.

Today is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Siblings can be forgotten grievers when a pregnancy ends or a baby dies, mainly because pregnancy and infant loss is hard to explain; especially when it makes no sense to adults.
