Why do therapists celebrate the smallest wins?

In ABA therapy, something called “positive reinforcement” is used to help children learn new skills. This simply means when a child does something we want to encourage- like asking for help, trying a new word, or following a direction, they’re met with something positive, like praise, a favorite toy, or a fun activity.

Over time, this helps them understand, “When I do this, good things happen,” making them more likely to do it again.

At Lamplight, these moments are a big deal to us because they’re a big deal for your child. We know that progress isn’t just about big milestones, it’s about building confidence step by step. By celebrating those small wins, we’re helping children feel successful, motivated, and excited to keep learning.

Lamplight is officially registered for the Georgia Race for Autism, and we are so excited to spend the day connecting with our community and celebrating every step forward.

This annual event brings people together to raise awareness and support for autism through the SPECTRUM Autism Support Group. From a 5K race and fun run to a fall festival, silent auction, and community resource fair, the day is filled with opportunities to learn, connect, and have fun as a family.

We’re so excited to connect with our community, celebrate progress, and share in a day that makes a real impact. We hope to see you there! 🌟

Happy World Book Day from all of us at Lamplight! 📚✨

Today we’re celebrating the magic that happens when stories come to life, because every page truly has the power to spark growth.

Reading plays an important role in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) by helping learners build essential skills like language, communication, and comprehension. Through structured, evidence-based strategies, ABA breaks reading down into manageable steps that support everything from recognizing letters to understanding full stories.

These skills don’t just support academic success. They help learners connect with the world around them and build confidence in everyday interactions .

We feel so grateful to witness these moments every day-- the first time a learner recognizes a word, engages with a story, or shares a book with a peer. These milestones, big and small, are what make our work so meaningful.

Watching our learners grow through reading is a reminder that progress happens one page at a time. 💛

📖 Join us in celebrating World Book Day by picking up a favorite story and sharing it with someone special!

There’s something really special about watching individual growth happen in a shared space🤝

During this session, as everyone sat down together to start working, one of our peers excitedly said, “yay friends!”- a simple moment that meant so much.

In ABA therapy, practicing individual skills within a group environment helps build social communication, peer engagement, and real-world confidence. These are the moments where connection starts to click.

We’re so grateful to be part of these everyday wins and meaningful milestones with our learners.

Step up to the plate for a day of connection, inclusion, and fun!⚾💙

Lamplight Behavior Analysis is excited to share this special opportunity with our community: Autism Acceptance Day at Truist Park! Families can enjoy a sensory-friendly pre-game gathering designed with comfort in mind, followed by the chance to participate in a pregame parade around the field.

It’s a great way for children to experience a major league environment in a more supportive and welcoming setting.

While the pre-game gathering is sensory-friendly, the game itself will follow a traditional format. We recommend that families plan ahead for what works best for their child.

Events like these are a wonderful way to build confidence, practice community engagement, and create meaningful memories together.

👉 Don’t forget! Tickets are limited and go on sale April 10 at 12 PM!

Nothing beats seeing our learners engaged, active, and having fun!

Last Friday, Lamplight Holly Springs hosted an egg hunt filled with movement, smiles, and lots of excitement as kids explored, searched, and celebrated their successes along the way.

Activities like egg hunts are more than just fun. They support important developmental skills we focus on every day in ABA. Searching for items encourages problem-solving, attention to detail, and following directions, while also promoting communication and social interaction with peers.

These types of hands-on, play-based experiences also help build confidence and independence as children navigate their environment and accomplish goals.

We love creating opportunities where learning and joy go hand-in-hand, and this was a perfect example of both in action!

April is World Autism Awareness Month- a time to celebrate, uplift, and increase understanding of the autism community.

It’s an opportunity to recognize the unique strengths, perspectives, and experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum while continuing to advocate for inclusion, acceptance, and meaningful support in everyday life. Awareness is just the beginning; true impact comes from listening, learning, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued and empowered.

At Lamplight Behavior Analysis, we’re proud to stand alongside our learners, families, and communities this month and always. We’re honored to be part of each learner’s journey and to help shine a light on the importance of understanding and acceptance.

Follow along with us this month as we continue to learn, grow, and celebrate together 💙

Watching creativity bloom is one of our favorite parts of the day! 🌸

There’s nothing better than watching our learners express themselves through art while building important skills along the way. From creativity and decision-making to fine motor development and self-expression, every brush stroke and color choice plays a role in their progress.

Today at Lamplight, Holly Springs, we loved watching our learners participate in a Spring art activity. We’re incredibly grateful to have a front-row seat to these meaningful moments and to help support our learners as they reach new milestones; some that may seem small, but are truly huge steps forward.

Spring is in the air… or at least just around the corner and that means more chances to learn, explore, and grow!🌱

Simple outdoor activities can have a big impact on development. Nature walks encourage communication and observation skills as children label what they see, while gardening helps build responsibility, patience, and fine motor coordination.

Even picking flowers or drawing with chalk can support following directions, creativity, and sensory exploration. Studies show that combining movement, nature, and play helps improve attention, emotional regulation, and overall engagement in learning.

At Lamplight Behavior Analysis, we take these everyday moments and turn them into meaningful learning opportunities through ABA therapy. Our individualized approach ensures each child’s interests guide their goals. So whether it’s bubbles, bugs, or blooming flowers, we meet them where they are and help them build skills that last beyond the session.

Spring is here, and so is the growth!🌷✨

At Lamplight, we love celebrating the little moments; because in ABA therapy, those “small” wins are actually BIG milestones. Skills like trying new words, making eye contact, asking for help, or playing with peers may seem simple, but for many learners, they represent meaningful progress in communication, independence, and connection.

These changes often come after consistent practice, individualized support, and a lot of encouragement, making each success something truly worth celebrating.

Our team works hard to create personalized programs that meet each child where they are, helping them grow at their own pace in ways that matter most to them and their families. At our clinics, we get to see these moments happen in real time- turning small steps into big breakthroughs every single day. This spring, we’re celebrating every bloom and all the incredible progress still to come 🌼
