This. đ
This is why we do what we do.
So proud of Ms. Stefanie for truly meeting her learners where they are and helping families feel seen. Thank you Ms. Stefanie for Sparking Joy with us!
A Ms. Stefanie appreciation post.
âJacobâs needs are very different from the other autistic kids I see. He wouldnât do well with the traditional approach to therapy.â
And just like that⌠everything weâve been working toward felt seen.
I have fought hard to get Jacob the therapies he needsâtrying anything and everything suggested, second guessing myself more times than I can count. Because when youâre parenting an autistic child, youâre constantly navigating systems that werenât built for your child.
But our current BCBA? She gets it.
She gets him. She sees me.
And because of that, weâre finally making real, meaningful progressâby doing things a little differently than traditional ABA.
This is your reminder: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to autism. The right support isnât about fitting our kids into a system⌠itâs about finding people willing to meet them where they are.
And when you find those peopleâhold onto them. đ¤
