๐Ÿฉธ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿ™๏ธ On March 8th, our firefighters raised $28,650 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as they climbed 69 floors (1,356 steps) up Seattleโ€™s skyline icon, the Columbia Center.

Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way and helped make this another successful trip for our firefighters as they conquered the Pacific Northwestโ€™s tallest building.

๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿชœ March is National Ladder Safety Month โ€” and aerial ladder work is one of the highest-risk, highest-skill operations our firefighters perform. From positioning and tip placement to controlled movement at height, the basics have to be locked in before the job gets dynamic. Here are three field-proven reminders that apply every time an aerial goes up:

โ–ช๏ธ ๐’๐ž๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ ๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐œ๐œ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ: spot for clearance, solid ground, and a safe scrub area.
