You are not alone. I am here to support you.

Birthing people are strong and there is great power in the body. I believe our bodies sends us signals we just need to tune in and listen. Learning to trust ourselves, our baby and the process. There is so much transformation taking place right now. So, thank your body for all the sacred work it’s doing. You’re carrying magic within your womb. ✨

I am offering virtual and in person services. We are now allowed back in to two hospitals in OC ( & ).

FETAL MONITORING 📈

Did you know you have options for how the hospital monitors your baby and contractions? Discuss the different options you may have with your care provider.

1️⃣ Electronic Fetal Monitors (EFM): Most commonly used in hospitals. It is held against the mothers abdomen with elastic belts or a belly band that hook up to a machine. Top strap is to tell when you’re having a contraction and the bottom tells the heartbeat of your baby. Continuous use and needs to be adjusted if you move around or baby changes positions.

2️⃣Monica Novii: wireless fetal monitoring system that allows freedom of movement during labor for women who need to have continual monitoring. No cords! Most hospitals have this option now.

3️⃣ Internal fetal monitoring: An electrode is attached to the baby’s head. Provides continuous monitoring and typically used in high risk situations or if certain complications arise in labor.

Join me for a 1.5 hour workshop where we will discuss tools for you and your partner to utilize during your birth.

Date: Saturday, September 19 // 1-2:30pm PST via zoom // pre recording available upon request.

Thank you for this information! 🤍 Check her IG out for more info.

Imitation is an important way of learning; it becomes especially valuable toward the end of the first year, as babies try out new skills. Babies imitate actions/gestures first, then sounds, and then words. Babies are born with mirror neurons which allow them to imitate what they see and hear.

Once babies start moving and making noises, it’s really fun to imitate them. Babies love to be copied!

When did your baby start to imitate you??

As your doula it’s my role to help educate and support you for your birth. During our prenatal visits I talk about the possibility of a cesarean birth. That way my clients feel confident when making decisions or understand the process in case baby needs to be born this way.

I know as a doula my role is to help decrease cesarean rates, statistically that happens and at the same time cesarean births happen too for reasons that go far beyond my control.

We discuss the option of a “Gentle Cesarean” or “Family Centered” Cesarean which allow for immediate skin to skin contact with mom & baby, delayed cord clamping, and clear sterile drape or for the drape to be lowered when baby is born so mom can see.

Join me for another cesarean birth prep workshop on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 6pm PST via zoom.

You can. You are. You already are.

Twisting is essential when you're pregnant. It helps stimulate digestion, better sleep and moves energy through your body. It's just how you do it that matters. As your beautiful belly grows, you want to keep your twist open and spacious. The key is to make sure you aren't doing deep, closed twists where the abdominal area is compressed.

Always listen to your body and honor where you're at today since everyday in pregnancy your body feels different.

Prenatal yoga series starts THIS Tuesday, August 25th at 6pm at Hillcrest in Fullerton. Drop ins are $15 (pre registration required)

I will also be teaching Wednesday live at 2pm! Can’t wait to guide all my Ra mamas through a prenatal yoga class ♥️

In labor the birthing person must feel safe, loved and supported. You should create an environment along with a birth team that makes you feel calm physically, mentally and emotionally.
There are a variety of labor positions, ways for your partner to support you and tools to pull out of your toolbox to help you cope with contractions.
Even if you plan on receiving pain medications in childbirth, sometimes you don’t have access to it right away. Things may progress very quickly, you may get sent home from your birth place, or the anesthesiologist isn’t there yet. So it’s extremely important for the birth partner to know how to help the laboring person cope in labor and pull out these tools to use if needed.
Doulas are great at reminding the birth partner of different comfort measures, rather than taking their place we encourage them to be the main supporter. It’s hard to remember every tool so it’s nice to have another person there to guide you and back you up if needed.
Today is the LAST day to sign up for my comfort measures workshop happening tomorrow August 22nd at 1:00-2:30pm PST via zoom. Recording of this workshop is available upon request.
We will review a variety of comfort measures, relaxation techniques, vocalization, touch techniques and more! You will also receive a ton of handouts and resources.

Having a baby during a pandemic can feel isolating. Exciting. Overwhelming. A sense of grief.

The birthing process looks different, maybe you hired a doula or someone close to you was supposed to attend your birth. You had plans for friends & family to come stay with you.

Whatever it may be & however you are feeling right now know it’s completely valid. I hope you have taken the time to feel it all.

The postpartum period is a very sacred and transforming time. One that should be honored and supported by your community. Did you know the US is the only developed nation in the world lacking public polices that support women with some kind of paid compensation after giving birth?

The postpartum period deserves as much planning and support as pregnancy & birth. We tend to focus a lot on the birth or what baby needs and very little on what postpartum will look like. The healing process takes some time. Especially, if you have a cesarean birth you’ll need a little more support. You’re recovering from major surgery, so the healing is going to take a little longer.

Here are some ways you can ask/receive help and other helpful tips.

- Communicating with your partner about expectations. Create a postpartum plan the way you would create a birth plan.
- Put on your baby registry to have people gift you a postpartum doula or night nanny.
- Some newer postpartum doulas offer their services at a really low cost.
- Placenta encapsulations. Something to look into.
- Go easy on yourself. You’re doing the best you can.
- Nourish your body with a lot of nourishing warming foods, nap and rest!

If you would like to know more join Rosa and I are this Sunday, August 23 at 1pm for a 1.5 hour workshop all about preparing for a cesarean birth and the recovery process.

Seated one hand on your heart, the other hand on baby’s heart ❤️

You are the chosen vessel. The ultimate creator. The giver of life. Place your hands on your womb and feel the life force within you. Send gratitude to your body for all the sacred work it is doing ✨

This is a perfect way to really tune into your body before any movement occurs. It allows you to come from a place of quite mindfulness and will help you move with awareness of your body and baby in the moment. Since everyday in pregnancy is different and your body is changing at such a rapid pace, what feels good for you one day may completely change the next. We need to be mindful of body and breath.

Let’s move together with intention during my prenatal yoga series beginning Tuesday, August 25 at 6pm in Fullerton at the top of the hill at Hillscrest.

Thursday, August 27 - virtual series begins at 6pm PST

Saturday, August 29- virtual series begins at 10am PST

We will have a different topic every single week to discuss and also a few minutes at the beginning of every class to talk as a group as a way to connect. Especially right now during the circumstances were in pregnancy can feel very isolating. This series is a great way to get to know other expecting people and share experiences during this sacred time, be able to commiserate over pregnancy woes, and resources during pregnancy and into parenthood.
