Happy Birthday Dear El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz

Born: May 19, 1925
Died: Feb. 21, 1965

Malcom X is/was the epitome of a human being that was unapologetic about his truths and the truths of his people!

He STOOD for ALL things Righteous and FELL for NOTHING!!!

As a “Black” BirthWorker I have been subjected to insurmountable discrimination, gaslighting, racism and much more.

Had it not been for abiding to the teachings about dignity, sacrifice, self love, strength, and perseverance from people like Malcom X, Sojourner Truth, Harriet Tubman aka Moses and more, I may not have made it on this journey to becoming a Licensed Midwife.

So today I would like to give a special acknowledgement and honor to a man who fought for my people, his people, and evolved for all.

When you drive 1-hour and 30 minutes away to catch a baby and then drive 1-hour and 30 minutes back and walk in your house shortly after 6:00 a.m and you reward yourself with this!!!

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE MIDWIFE!!!!!!!!! While Women such as myself WALK IN SPIRIT FIRST, I found it only befitting that today welcomed a vibrant 2nd Year Student who blended in lovely with our team on not only International Day of the Midwife!!!!

FUN FACT ABOUT THIA DAY- our Senior Midwife entered into her Menarche on this date not knowing that one day she too would fall in formation with the Great Baby Catcher on this North American Soil!!!

Moral of that Story being is…….. DIVINE ORDER!!!!!! As Many are Called but Few are Chosen!!!!

THIS WORK IS BY NO MEANS FOR THE WEARY BUT FOR THIOSE WHO CAN ENDURE!!!
