Working in the field of education for the past 10 years, I've seen many kids struggle significantly with what some have called 'Back to School Jitters'. Kids can often face anxiety about the shift back to school for many reasons...often with unpleasant side effects.

The crying.
The mysterious stomach pains that conveniently hit just before you pull into the parking lot.
The lack of sleep and changes in eating-habits.

I can help with that!!
Did you know that I offer 30 minute sessions for children under the age of 13? Right now, I'm opening limited spots for some pre-school year 'coaching' for students who are struggling with the imminent return to school...AND it can even be a 'group' session if parents would like to join in! These are short-term, solution-focused sessions to give you and your student tools for success, a gameplan for tough days, and some peace of mind launching into the school year.

Reach out to schedule your session today!!

I love seeing all my people out there but if I don’t see hi, now you know why!πŸ₯°πŸ˜Š

No one can stop you from running into your therapist out in public. But just know that if you're hoping your therapist will come over and say hello, it's not going to happen. This doesn't mean that you can't say hi to your therapist in public, it just means that they can't make the first contact.

There are a few reasons why. The first is for ethical reasons. Your therapeutic relationship is incredibly important and requires boundaries. Spending time with a client outside of a session can be inappropriate and impact your mental health treatment.

Another reason your therapist can't say hi to you is that it's a confidentiality violation. Your therapist is tasked with protecting you and confidential information about you and your treatment. If your therapist were to come over to you in a public place they may inadvertently be acknowledging your therapeutic relationship.

Therapists take ethics and confidentiality very seriously. So if you're out in public and you see your therapist and they don't say hi or make eye contact, know that it's not personal. It's part of the job.
