There are two types of patient reported outcomes (PRO). Read more

Condition specific PRO- measures are developed for a specific group like people with aphasia.

Generic PRO- measures are developed for the general population like stroke (I.e. stroke impact scale, EQ-5D)

In this publication we analyzed PROs developed specifically for people with aphasia.

Patient reported outcomes capture the individual perspective on one’s ability to lead a fulfilling life in the presence of a chronic disability.

June is

On this episode of Brain Friends we play “two truths and a lie”, discuss trending after a celebrity diagnosis, and talk about aphasia on vacation.

We address the ongoing debate of should practitioners classify aphasia types?

Angie shares fluency, paraphrasing, and relaxation tips for airport travel and social communication with friends and family.

Dr. Seles learns the importance of SLPs and researchers focusing on functional language that helps with community re-integration.

We close with a question everyone listening should answer and ask someone with aphasia. What do you wish more people knew about aphasia?
