Flu B, Strep Throat & Bronchiolitis: A Quick Health Update for Our Families 🩺🤒
We want to keep our families informed about what we’re seeing in the office. Over the past week, these have been the most common illnesses we’ve been evaluating:
FLU B – still very active in our community
Common symptoms:
• Fever and chills
• Body aches and fatigue
• Cough, sore throat, or headache
📞 Call the office if your child has a fever lasting more than 5 days, difficulty breathing, severe fatigue, dehydration, or symptoms that are not improving.
STREP THROAT
Common symptoms:
• Sudden onset sore throat
• Fever
• Headache or stomach pain
• Swollen glands
• Often no cough or congestion
📞 Call the office if your child has a sore throat with fever, pain when swallowing, stomach pain with vomiting, or symptoms that are worsening or not improving.
BRONCHIOLITIS (common in infants and toddlers)
Common symptoms:
• Runny nose and congestion
• Cough (can be persistent)
• Wheezing or noisy breathing
• Decreased feeding
• Mild fever
📞 Call the office if your child has fast or labored breathing, wheezing that is worsening, poor feeding, signs of dehydration, or if you notice retractions (pulling in at the ribs/neck when breathing).
