Man! A decade flys by before you know it! After more than 10 years it's time for me to say goodbye to the people I have called my family and the place that has been more home since I became a Registered Nurse.

Trauma Burn ICU & Step-Down are places I never thought I'd go in my career as a Nurse, let alone have the incredible honor and privilege to lead the most incredible and talented healthcare professionals in Trauma & Burn Nursing that one aeader could ever ask for!

In 2018 I almost left the Trauma and Burn Nursing world were it not for the first true leader that I ever encountered that saw something in me beyond the title of RN. Leadership is no cakewalk and I have the invisible scars to prove it! Thankful for every challenge and every opportunity that I have been afforded in my career by great leaders that inspired to not only perform at my best, but also lead others!

While I am moving towards a new academic goal in Trauma and Burn Care as an Acute Care Nurse Pratitioner, I know that the road ahead is the path I am destined to be on in the OR at the very same hospital that cared for my family member more than 20 years ago.

It is a bittersweet transition but I have comfort knowing that it's not goodbye forever... Just a little while. I also know that the Dumpster Fire award will live on long after I am gone as my contribution to the only Trauma Burn Intensive Care Unit at Orlando Regional Medical Center!

From the bottom of my heart I am forever grateful to the peers, colleagues, mentors, and friends that have been there for the good times and the Dumpster Fires! 🥹🙏🏼♥️🔥
