Not everyone knows my mission in psychiatry. It all began when I was an RN living in Arkansas as a single mother to two young boys, one was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2. I remember asking our pediatrician for guidance on what I could do next to help my autistic son improve to function better, not for me but for him as he gets older. His pediatrician had very little insight on this. So, I set out to find resources for him and again, there were many road blocks. This is when I decided to further my education to become a nurse practitioner. At first, I chose family practice and one year into my program, I researched so much on Autism, this led me to drop the family practice program and start my journey in psychiatry. My studies alone helped me to be able to help my own son through psychiatric care. To this day, I have found ways to improve behaviors in my own son along with other children and I recently discovered that most with ASD have the MTHFR gene deficiency , my son included. Since learning how to treat this, my son is fully verbal and functioning so well. Again, I have helped my patients to achieve these same successes. For others, I have a 100% treatment success rate in treating depression and have stabilized those with anxiety without the use of benzodiazepines. Since resources have been so limited, I became a strong one for many in need. Please feel free to contact me for help. I am here!

If your body still tightens, your eyes scan the room, or your heart spikes in places that should feel calm, I want you to know this: your nervous system is doing its job the only way it knows how, and that doesn’t mean you’re broken or beyond help—just that you’ve been carrying too much for too long; try to be gentle with yourself, notice one small thing that grounds you (a breath, the weight of your feet, a steady voice), and remember that safety can be rebuilt in tiny, steady steps—you’re not alone in this, and with patience and support those places can begin to feel safe again.

Feeling numb doesn't mean you've run out of hope — it's often your heart's quiet way of protecting itself from too much pain at once, not a verdict that nothing will ever change; it's okay if you can't feel much right now, what matters is that you are still here, still breathing, and that in itself is a beginning; you don't have to fix everything today — one small step, a single honest conversation, or even permission to rest can make room for feeling again, and when you're ready there are gentle, human ways forward that can help you find color and meaning once more.

When the house gets quiet and your thoughts feel the loudest, it can seem like you’re the only one stuck in that loop — but overthinking at night is more common than you think, and it doesn’t mean you’re failing; it means you’re human. I see how exhausting it is to carry a thousand what-ifs under the covers, and I want you to know those moments don’t define you; small breaths, gentle boundaries around worry, and the tiniest acts of self-kindness can start to make the dark feel less heavy. You don’t have to fix everything tonight — just notice you’re still here, still trying, and that’s enough to begin finding softer nights ahead.

If you're feeling off, tired, or like small things are piling up, you don't have to wait for a meltdown to deserve support — therapy isn't only for crisis; it's a place to learn tools, understand patterns, and build gentle habits that make life feel steadier. Reaching out before everything feels unbearable is an act of self-respect and courage, and it can help you carry today a little easier and tomorrow a little brighter.

If you've been told your mania or depression are "just mood swings," that can feel small and lonely—but those highs and lows are often much more than a quick change in mood; they can change how you think, sleep, and move through your days, and that is real and valid. It's okay to feel overwhelmed, scared, or exhausted by this—feeling dismissed doesn't make your experience any less important. You don't have to explain or prove your pain to deserve help; reaching out, asking for support, and finding people who will listen without minimizing you are brave steps, and there are ways forward. You are not broken for feeling this, and steadier, kinder days are possible.

When your chest tightens and the room tilts with a panic wave, it’s okay to be scared — those sensations are your body’s emergency alarm, not proof something worse is happening, and they can feel overwhelming even though they’re common and treatable; try grounding yourself with slow breaths or naming five things you see, remind yourself this is a temporary surge, and know you don’t have to face it alone — small, steady steps and asking for support can bring real relief, and there’s hope ahead as you learn how to ride these moments with more calm and confidence.

You are not weak for reacting to what hurt you — your tears, your silence, your anger are the body's honest way of saying something mattered; they are proof that you feel, that you cared, and that you deserve gentleness, not judgment. It’s okay to hurt and to show it; healing doesn’t erase the pain overnight, but honoring your reaction is the first brave step toward learning what you need and protecting your heart. You didn’t break by responding — you showed your humanity, and that humanity can be soothed, supported, and guided forward, one small steady breath at a time.

Some mornings the weight of the covers feels like the whole world and getting out of bed isn’t about laziness—it’s about carrying too much on too-small shoulders; if you’re there right now, I see you, and it’s okay to move slowly, to celebrate tiny wins like sitting up, swinging your legs over the side, or breathing through one long minute—these are not small; they are brave steps forward, and you don’t have to fix everything today to matter. You are not alone, and there can be softer mornings ahead.
