What does trust the process really mean?

Well, it is actually giving your body time to recover and heal after having a procedure. Oftentimes, we get discouraged, we get frustrated, and we have all these emotions around the way that our body looks immediately after surgery.

But guess what, your body just went through a traumatic event, it's going to be swollen, it's going to be bruised, It's going to be tender, you're going to have pain and your final look, or results is not going to be revealed until after months of recovery.

So give yourself grace, be patient, and allow your body to recover in a timely manner. That's what it means to trust the process.

Finding comfortable shoes as a lymphedema patient can become a frustrating process. Traditional shoes that can not adjust based on swollen feet can cause severe indentation, pain, and discomfort for lymphedema patients.

Shoes with velcro and adjustable straps have been found to be more tolerable and comfortable by my patients.

If you have lymphedema that involves your ankles and your feet, check out the brand mentioned in the video.

Cardiovascular disease affects women and men. However, women are less likely to be diagnosed with heart disease compared to men. February is American Heart Awareness Month, but the first Friday of the month is Go Red Wear Red to bring awareness of cardiovascular disease in women.

This hits home for me. My mother had quadruple bypass surgery, and it made me become more aware of my own heart disease risk. So, I am active and aware of the foods that I eat. What are some things you do to reduce your heart disease risk?

Comment below, and let's help each other in making healthier choices.

Infection prevention starts with awareness. The number one thing you can do as a healthcare provider or clinician is wash your hands. Remember that microbes/germs can live on all surfaces.

Those daily surfaces should be cleaned thoroughly every day to prevent the spread of infection. One of those surfaces for me as a mobile provider is the steering wheel, because even though I wash my hands, guess what? I touch my steering wheel to get to all my clients' houses, that's why hand washing before and after working with a client is essential.

Any other suggestions to prevent infection and cross contamination? Leave it in the comments below.
