When you're children come home from school and have questions or talk about race, here's one answer:

Just because someone's skin is a different color doesn't mean they have different feelings than you.

This picture is one I took in the Phuket airport. My son and me were waiting to board, and this little boy came over. He began talking to my son (in whatever his language is [idk otherwise I'd type that]). The little boy had a small toy in his hands and while he was talking to my son he was showing him the toy. Inviting my son to play.

There was beauty in seeing the joy this little boy had in connecting with my son. And my son also lit up.

We have our differences as people. And still the similarities are so much more significant.
