In the summer of 2015, Chuck, Charlie, Bobby, Tommy, David and I auditioned for a commercial with Disney World. Charlie was in the middle of studying for his dental boards. We drove to a local hotel for the audition and the 6 of us sat in front of a few people who asked us questions about “what life was like in the Burnes home.” We talked over each other trying to answer their questions as best we could. They recorded us on their IPads and took individual pictures of us as well. When the audition was over, we left feeling hollow. Did we convey what life was truly like with our amazing brother and son .burnes.545 ? We teased each other about our answers and regretted all we failed to say. Imagine our surprise when we got the call that Disney wanted our family for their commercial. The commercial filming itself is a story all it’s own but suffice to say it was an incredible experience. One we’ll never forget. But after the commercial ran on the air, we thought our Disney gig was over, until last night, when a friend texted to say that Dave’s picture landed on a Disney pamphlet. Whaaatt? Dang Dave! Your joy lives on. Tell ya what, David,let’s go to while your mug still graces the cover. We’ll flash it to everyone and you can say, “This is me!” We’ll find an ice cream shop there too. It’ll be an awesome day. We love you, David💗 Thanks

Here’s to a Father’s Day we’ve never had before. In Maine. With your brother Mark and his kiddos. Here’s to celebrating you, (and Mark) and fatherhood.

In May of 1931, my dad Robert Nicholas Serros was born. Weeks later, his parents, Antionette Aprea and Nick Serros brought Bobby, their son, to St. James church to be baptized. 90 years later, in May of 2021, Bob Serros and his wife Rosalee travel to that same church to attend the Baptism of a grandson who carries their name, River Serros Burnes. It was a beautiful day for 3 families to be baptizing their babies, and River was all smiles when he wasn’t sleeping. The Deacon ending the service by saying how happy he was to welcome 3 new Christians to the face of the earth.
