My name is Misty and I'm excited to start my own practice: Pillar Speech Therapy (short for “Caterpillar Speech-Language and Myofunctional Therapy”). The name was inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar, by Eric Carle. I love this book and reading it set me on a path to becoming an SLP. eatment of disorders related to orofacial myology, receptive, expressive, and social language skills, articulation and phonological processing skills, apraxia, feeding and sensory aversions and swallowing difficulties. For the past seven years, I have focused my clinical skills on treating early childhood intervention and myofunctional disorders (assisting with tongue-tie releases, tongue thrust, and tongue resting posture). I am passionate about working with children and their families, and I love collaborating with other professionals.
