🍂 Fall Weather & Neck Pain: What’s the Connection?

As we transition from summer to fall, I’ve noticed an uptick in clients coming in with neck stiffness and pain—and there’s a good reason for it.

Cooler temperatures, changing barometric pressure, allergies, and even seasonal stress can all contribute to neck and shoulder tension. When the weather turns chilly, our muscles instinctively tighten to conserve heat. Add in less outdoor activity, school schedules ramping up, and fall allergies, and it’s no wonder our necks are feeling the strain!

Some common culprits:

Temperature drops: Muscles tighten in the cold, leading to stiffness

Barometric pressure changes: Shifts in pressure can inflame joints and tissues

Reduced activity: Less movement = tighter muscles

Stress & allergies: Both can cause extra tension in the neck and shoulders
