🍇🌻✨ It’s Harvest Season at Fiddlehead Homestead! ✨🌻🍇

If there’s one truth the land teaches us, it’s this: good things take time. 🌱⏳

These are the fruits of our labor on Labor Day

Nine years ago, our founder Shaman Shakti Shae began transforming this 6-acre sanctuary into the micro-permaculture and forest farm it is today. He started by inoculating the woods with shiitake, oyster, and honey mushrooms 🍄 ~ tiny threads of life weaving their way into the soil. From there, the orchard was planted, and the rich, bioavailable no-till soil you see today began to take form. 🌳🌎

In the last year, we’ve been blessed to welcome Stephan Hoog, a seasoned permaculture extraordinaire 🙌. With his hands, heart, and wisdom, he’s added even more deliciousness and abundance to the land. 🥕🥒🌽

✨ And now ~ we are tasting the sweetness of patience. ✨

Our figs are ripening, concord grapes are heavy on the vine 🍇, peaches are glowing 🍑, and wolfberries are bursting with life. 🌿 Even little Acacia (our tiniest homesteader 🌸👶) is joining in the joy of the harvest.

The garden, the orchard, the soil, and the community remind us every day: a harvest is not born in a moment, but in years of love, tending, and trust. 🌾💚

From humble beginnings to overflowing baskets, we are deeply grateful to share this moment with you. May this harvest season remind us all to slow down, plant good seeds, and trust that the fruits of our labor ~ and our lives ~ will ripen in their own perfect time. 🌞🌙

With gratitude,

The Fiddlehead Homestead Family 🌿🔥✨

🌿 A Heartfelt Update from Fiddlehead Homestead 🌿

To our beloved community,

We’ve always believed that the land speaks — and that it calls us together.

Over the years, Fiddlehead Homestead has grown from a quiet family sanctuary into a sacred space where people gather to reconnect with the Earth, with themselves, and with each other. We’ve hosted healing circles, wellness events, soulful song nights, and shared fires, meals, stories, and drumbeats under the stars.

But as some of you may have heard… not everyone has appreciated the joy, music, and togetherness we’ve cultivated here.

Yes, it’s true — we’ve received complaints from a few local voices who are uncomfortable with the gatherings we host. Whether it’s the sound of laughter, the rhythm of drums, or simply the presence of a thriving alternative community that bothered them, their judgements have reached the point where we must make a shift.

✨ So here’s what’s next:

We will now be transitioning to fully permitted seasonal gatherings that will be more aligned with larger community festivals. These events will be planned in accordance with all local guidelines and permits — and will be celebrations of spirit, song, connection, creativity, and land-based living. Think solstice festivals, harvest feasts, fire ceremonies, and community market days… done beautifully, legally, and in full bloom.

🌲 AND — we’re returning to our roots.

As a family, we will continue to do what we’ve always done: invite our friends over for fires, drumming, spontaneous music, camping, and old-fashioned fun. These are not “events” — they are the heartbeat of how we live. They are our heritage and our joy. They are sacred, simple, and always welcome here free of charge for family and friends to enjoy.

We want to thank everyone who has supported us, showed up with love, and felt at home on this land. Fiddlehead Homestead will always be a sanctuary for those walking gently and wildly on the Earth. And to those who don’t understand us — may you be blessed with peace and purpose of your own, wherever your path leads.

✨ We are not going anywhere. We are simply evolving.

Just as the garden shifts with the seasons, so do we. And we’ll keep growing — deeper, wider, and stronger than ever before.

With love from the soil to the stars,
— The Fiddlehead Homestead Family 🌾🔥💚

Amazing. Now we know why monsanto went after the dandelions:

"Just one leaf of this herb, found in every garden, can save your life in a minute, but only some people know how to use it!

It kills up to 96% of leukemia cells in just 48 hours!

Nature itself has many effective health remedies. You may not know the presence of many effective plants, but in fact, they are located right in your garden.

When it comes to leukemia, many of us are the first to equip ourselves with medication, chemotherapy, poor quality of life and overall misery.

Here’s all the info you need to know about the roots (and leaves) of a dandelion and what it can do for people battling leukemia.

Recent studies have shown that the dandelion root is cytotoxic against three types of human leukemia cells and it destroys up to 96% of cells in just 48 hours!

Dandelion tea affects cancer cells by breaking down within 48 hours and stimulating the growth of new healthy cells in the patient's body.

The study was conducted by Dr. Hamm with his students.

They removed blood cells from 9 different patients who used root extract and applied it to several cells to cultivate them. Within 24 hours, the cells were killed.

There have also been a number of other studies to find that dandelion extract can have potentially effective substances against cancer, melanomas and prostate and breast cancer.

Other properties of dandelion root/leaves...

Dandelion root/leaf extract has been used for centuries as an effective healing agent in traditional folk medicine.

Anemia...

Dandelions have a fairly high content of iron, vitamins and proteins. While iron is a part of hemoglobin in the blood, vitamins like vitamin B and proteins are important for the formation of red blood cells and some other blood components. A dandelion can help with anemia.

Strong bones...

Dandelion is rich in calcium, which is essential for bone growth and strength, and is rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C and luteolin, which protect bones from age-related damage.

Diabetes ...

Dandelion juice can help diabetics by stimulating the production of insulin from the pancreas.

Prevents urinary tract infection...

Dandelion can help prevent urinary tract infections, as well as bladder and kidney disorders, or even cysts on the reproductive organs.

Cleanses the liver ...

Vitamins and nutrients contained in the dandelion help to clean the liver and ensure their proper function. Dandelions help our digestive system by maintaining proper bile flow. Dandelion is also rich in vitamin C, reduces inflammation and prevents disease.

Digestion Assistance...

Dandelion acts as a mild food that promotes digestion, encourages appetite and balances natural and beneficial bacteria in the intestines.

Skin care . . .

Dandelion juice is also used to treat skin diseases caused by microbial and fungal infections. The juice is highly alkaline and has insecticidal, bactericidal and fungicidal effects.

This juice can be used for itching, shingles, eczema, etc."

🌞 Tuesday Tip from the Homestead✨ Tend to the Little Things

Homestead life teaches us that the small things—watering the garden, picking herbs, feeding the chickens—hold big medicine.

Today’s tip: Take 5 minutes to do one mindful task outside.
🪴 Pull a few weeds
🌸 Smell the herbs
🌿 Water a plant by hand
🐓 Sit with the animals

As you do, notice the sounds, smells, textures. Let your body slow down.

💬 We’d love to hear:
What’s one small act of tending you’ve done today that brought you peace or presence?
