Hey everyone! I finally got to run up to the big city of DesMoines to look for crimp covers & anything else I think i could use. First stop was at Michael's. I see why I don't shop here often. They did have some great beads, even gemstone beads but OMG!! I'm not paying their prices. I had picked 4 strands of gemstone beads, one of them being these cute glass squirrels. I thought i could use them in a wire art tree. Hubby felt the same way about the paint supplies he looked at. The pricing was all over the place and much more expensive compared to Hobby Lobby. He decided to wait. We were on our way to checkout when I saw there must have been over 10 people in line. The place was busy. We don't do busy very well. I ended up putting everything back & we left the store.
Next stop was Half Price Book Store. We got in there & went to our favorite subject...metaphysical!! Neither one of us could find any books that we just absolutely had to have. We did pick out 4 books for our grandson in record time. This store too was very busy. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.
Next stop was a visit with our daughter & daughter in law. We met up at the hotel they work at. We had lots of laughs. On to our next stop...our youngest daughter & son in law for a quick visit & to give our grandson his books. He loves books!! He's not even two years old yet.
A final stop at Hobby Lobby on the way out of town. My hubby went crazy in the paint & canvas department. Ha! Good for him. I spent a whole $12 on some gold crimp covers & a new crimping tool. We weren't there long. I just wanted to get home. I just wasn't feeling the shopping vibe yesterday. I prefer shopping online. I can take my time & get exactly what I need.
After getting back to town, a quick stop at Fareway to grab steaks for today & picking up Casey's pizza. I was so looking forward to my jamming & eating taco pizza. Well, that didn't happen. I opened up the pizza box and saw the most horrendous pizza I've ever saw. The lack of toppings placed in the center of the pizza wasn't even the real problem. The lettuce they used was the color of mushrooms. In fact, i pick up a piece thinking it was a mushroom and why was there a mushroom on my taco pizza. It was lettuce!! A closer look i discovered that half of the lettuce they used was so brown & slimy. Oh yes, you bet your ass i called up there. I played nice but I was firm. In fact, the lady I talked to, I'm convinced is the person who made the pizza. Hubby was the one that went inside to picked it up. He said only 2 people were working. A young guy at the register & a lady in the kitchen. When I called the guy told me I would have to talk to his boss.... the lady! If I hadn't been so tired I would have taken the whole pizza up & ask her if she herself would eat pizza with the lettuce that was on it. The other pizza we got was meat galore. It was fine. I tried to eat some but after a slice I just couldn't stomach eating anymore. She offered to remake my pizza or return my money. Of course I took the money. How the hell could I trust her to remake a pizza when she didn't have enough common sense to know the difference between fresh lettuce & slimy brown lettuce. I also reported her to corporate. She has no business in the kitchen! I hope she gets written up if not fired. But we know that wont happen. Businesses are all disparate for help these days. They'll take anyone!
Luckily, I grabbed a container of cinnamon donut holes at fareway. I ate half of them. That was my dinner. I then went to bed in disgust about the pizza & wondering what the f**k is wrong with people! And this is why I stay home so much!
Anyhoo, yesterday is over. Today is a new day & I'm going to make it a great one! Looking forward to having steak later today. 😋 Hubby's request. I aim to please!!
Oh, picture to show I'm preparing to work on taxes next week.
