I refuse to give up on this plant đ±đ
I donât remember when I bought her but we had a rough start that involved a tumble down the ikea escalator.
Since then sheâs taken a few more tumbles, had a bout of root rot, several close encounters with kids and pets, too much sun, not enough sun, a warm draft (the most deadly of her experiences), many leaves lost and some slowly regained.
We had an unfortunate repotting experience that required consultation with a local nursery.
First the pot was too small, then too big. This weekend I noticed the pot was too small again (I think).
I also noticed the several intertwined trunks common to the money tree (or Pachira aquatica, if youâre smart like that) were dead. All of them.
I kinda knew for a while, but the time finally felt right to cut them away, so I chopped at them with the blind confidence of a mediocre-at-best plant mama.
So here she is - solo trunk, new pot, and some new growth.
I refuse to give up on her because of the poetic symbolism she provides (and she tolerates my amateur mistakes).
Thanks money tree đ
