I have a conspiracy theory…
and it’s that we’ve been convinced we’re “medication deficient.”

Not chronically stressed.
Not burnt out, undernourished, or completely disconnected from our bodies.

Just… lacking a pill.

And to be clear… medication can be necessary.
It saves lives and supports people through really hard seasons.

But the idea that it’s the end of the road for everyone?
That healing stops there?
That’s the part I question.

Because in many cases, the body can actually heal.
With the right support, the right environment, and time… things can shift more than we’re told.
Not overnight. Not magically.

But more naturally than most people realize.
You’re not just something to manage forever.
You might be someone who can heal deeper than you were led to believe.

Hangry much? 😂

Don't worry, it's not just you. Blood sugar spikes and crashes can cause mood swings, brain fog, and intense cravings.

Nutrient deficiencies can exacerbate the issue. Listen to your body!

Grab a balanced snack or meal and pay attention to how you feel.

If the problem persists, consider digging deeper into your nutrition.

Save this if you're tired of feeling controlled by your hunger or cravings.

For the record, I’m not completely anti-keto/ carnivore.

When a patient tells me keto healed their blood sugar, gut, hormones, skin, mood — and yes, even childhood trauma — I’m not rolling my eyes.

I’m listening and taking note.

Because if your symptoms improved that dramatically, that’s not random. That’s data.

But here’s the part no one talks about: when a very restrictive diet makes everything better, it usually means we accidentally removed a trigger… not that we resolved the root cause.

Lowering carbs can absolutely stabilize blood sugar.
Removing processed foods can calm inflammation.
Eliminating entire food groups can temporarily quiet a reactive gut.

That doesn’t mean your body only thrives on steak and butter forever.

Keto and carnivore can be therapeutic tools when used intentionally, for a specific goal, for a defined period of time.

But long-term healing isn’t about staying in metabolic survival mode. It’s about understanding why your body needed that level of restriction in the first place.

Hormones don’t become resilient by avoiding carbs forever.
Gut health doesn’t strengthen by shrinking diversity long-term.
Blood sugar stability shouldn’t require fear.

If something “worked,” I don’t dismiss it.
I get curious about it.

Because your improvement is a clue — not the final answer.

If you’re in this phase and wondering what your next step should be, let’s talk about how to figure out what your body was actually trying to tell you.

👇 This month, we’re starting a new series to simplify health.

Instead of overhauling your entire life, what if you chose one area to focus on?

For March, it’s the nervous system. Because when your body feels safe, everything else works better — your hormones, digestion, sleep, mood, energy.

March naturally sets up a good time to focus on the nervous system because we are shifting in both time and seasons.

If you want to join me, here are a few simple things to focus on this month:

• Get out into the morning sunlight for at least 5 to 10 minutes within 30 minutes of waking.
• Do 1 minute of physiological sigh breathing. (Do it three times a day for ultimate support!)
• Eat protein within 1 hour of waking

Optimal health doesn’t have to mean doing everything at once.

It can look like choosing one system, one rhythm, one intentional shift — and letting that create momentum.

If your body has been running on stress for a while, this is your invitation to slow down and support it.

Save this post if you’re focusing on your nervous system this month 🤍

🤣 I’m literally laughing and crying at how real this feels right now. .ks and I were literally just having a discussion about being in the trenches with motherhood, both battling illness and teething with our kids currently.

Sometimes life throws curveballs and we do what we can to cope. That means life doesn’t look perfect and even our health efforts don’t look perfect.

But you know what is great about us ladies AdventHealth Whole Health Institute (I’m talking you too, )? We know sometimes life looks like coping and imperfection. And that’s okay and we don’t judge.

What’s most important is understanding that we take in experiences as information, without labeling things good and bad and we make adjustments. Because that’s how we make progress. And progress is made by what we do MOST of the time, so that our health can be supported in those moments we need to cope.

Here’s to being in the trenches with you all! Don’t forget your raincoat out there! 😉

Reel: Thanks for helping us feel seen.

5 Mindsets You’re Allowed to Leave in 2025

I see these patterns every day in patients — and I’ve lived them myself.
None of them mean you’re failing. They mean your body has been trying to keep up in a system that asks too much.

1. “More is better.”
- More supplements. More protocols. More productivity.
You don’t always need to do more to heal. Healing often starts when you stop piling things on and start listening to what your body is already saying.

2. Perfection as the goal.
- Perfect routines. Perfect health. Perfect days.
Your health was never meant to be flawless. It was meant to be responsive, flexible, and human. We are all working at something in regards to health constantly.

3. Being busy as proof you’re doing it right.
- Long days. Full schedules. No margin.
Busyness isn’t a sign of strength. Your body doesn’t need you to push harder — it needs space to recover and feel present again.

4. Ignoring your body’s signals to meet expectations.
- Skipping rest because you “should be able to handle it.”
Next year, you get to let your physiology lead instead of pressure, guilt, or comparison.

5. Measuring success by output instead of sustainability.
- If something only works when you’re exhausted, it’s not actually working.
Healing is meant to support your life, not drain it.

Next year can look like:
✨Choosing safety in your body over intensity
✨Doing less, but doing it with intention
✨Creating days that feel steady instead of rushed
✨Defining success by how supported you feel, not how much you accomplish

Healing doesn’t ask you to be perfect.
It asks you to be honest, consistent, and respectful of your limits.

If this resonates, save it for when you need it during the year as you fell you begin to outwork your biology.
Your body isn’t behind — it’s been protecting you this whole time.

A lot of people don’t see this part of medicine, but it matters more than most realize.

In 2025, my continuing medical education focused on areas I see impacting patients every day — breast cancer and naturopathic co-management, managing abnormal menstrual bleeding, spike protein management, osteoporosis medication management, gut-brain interactions, men’s health, and longevity.

What these topics all have in common is that they rarely exist in isolation.
Hormones affect bone health.
The gut influences the brain and immune system.
Cancer care works best when it’s collaborative.
Longevity is about how all of these systems work together over time.

Staying current in these areas allows me to look beyond symptoms and think more intentionally about prevention, timing, and individualized care.
It shapes the questions I ask, the conversations we have, and how we decide on next steps together.

When you come in to see me, this ongoing education shows up in your care.
Thoughtful, up-to-date, whole-person medicine will always be my priority.
