Many people think of mindfulness and mindful awareness as something “new age” or separate from faith—however, practicing mindful awareness aligns beautifully with Christianity. 🌿✝️

Being mindful isn’t about emptying your mind or ignoring God—it’s about fully noticing the present moment with intention and gratitude. It’s about slowing down enough to recognize God’s presence in your life, to hear His guidance, and to respond rather than react.

Sometimes Christians worry that mindfulness contradicts their faith, but here's how it can deepen it:

• Prayerful presence: Mindfulness helps us be fully present in prayer and reflection.
• Gratitude awareness: Noticing the small blessings cultivates a heart of thankfulness.
• Discernment: Paying attention to thoughts and feelings helps us align actions with God’s will.
• Peace in the moment: Mindfulness teaches us to release worry and trust in God’s plan.

Mindful awareness is not a replacement for faith—it’s a way to live your faith more consciously. When we pause, notice, and breathe, we create space for God to work within us and through us.

Have you ever tried practicing mindfulness as part of your faith journey? I’d love to hear your experiences.

Disappointment has a way of shaking us — not because of what didn’t happen, but because of what we hoped would.
When our plans fall through or someone lets us down, it’s easy to slip into “what’s wrong with me?” thinking. But disappointment doesn’t have to define your story — it can refine it.
Lately, I’ve been reminding myself (and my clients) that:
✨ Disappointment is a signal, not a sentence.
✨ God still works through detours.
✨ We can grieve what we hoped for and grow toward what’s next.
If you’ve been feeling weighed down by unmet expectations, take a moment today to breathe, journal, and ask:
“What truth do I need to remember right now?”
Sometimes, that’s the beginning of peace. 💛

Poise isn’t perfection—it’s balance, grace, and dignity. It’s about noticing your thoughts, words, and emotions—and choosing how to respond instead of reacting automatically.

Think of it like a bowstring pulled back before release. The pause creates tension, but also clarity and strength. That moment of stillness gives you the power to respond with intention.

Follow this page for tips, reflections, and exercises to help you cultivate poise in daily life.

It’s human nature to fight what’s uncomfortable. When feeling sadness, anger, fear, loneliness, etc., we think we have to get over it and move on. We try distracting ourselves, or focusing on how “fix” the feelings.
But here’s the paradox: the more we resist our emotions, the tighter they hold on.
When we allow ourselves to sit quietly with our deepest emotions—without judgment—we often discover something surprising:
• Awareness of what’s truly going on inside
• Insight into the story behind the feeling
• Freedom to move forward, lighter and clearer
Sometimes the bravest step is simply saying, “This is here. I will feel it.”
Acceptance isn’t weakness. It’s strength in its most honest form.

Welcome to Pause for Poise ✨
We all carry stories in our minds that shape how we see ourselves and others. Some of those stories are true and life-giving. Others… keep us stuck.
This space is about pausing—to breathe, to reflect, and to ask ourselves:
• What story am I telling myself right now?
• Is it current, or is it from an old season of my life?
• Is it true?
• Does it lift me up or weigh me down?

Here, I’ll share thoughts, practices, and questions to help you notice the narratives you’re living in—and choose the ones that reflect your worth, wisdom, and hope.
Because when you pause with intention, you find your poise—and from that place, you can live more fully, freely, and authentically.

I’d love for you to follow along, share your reflections, and journey with me.
