I, Dr. B, had the honor of speaking at the 2026 Cutting Edge Sports Medicine Conference. My presentation focused on rehabilitation following various cartilage procedures in the knee, and how to properly guide patients through recovery after cartilage injury.

I was also part of a panel alongside four orthopedic surgeons, where I shared physical therapy insight for patients navigating knee arthritis, osteochondral allograft transplantation, autologous chondrocyte implantation, and biologic interventions including PRP and stem cells.

First Victory Board for B Physical Therapy-Lake Mary!

Jason came to PT with a sudden onset of knee pain and swelling that made walking and weight bearing nearly impossible without crutches.

Through manual therapy, progressive resistance work, and a personalized plan to safely and steadily load the joint again, Jason is now back to running.

And he is not just running for fun. Jason is training for his first half Ironman, and he will be completing it later this year alongside his dad.

Way to go, Jason. We are proud of you.

February Health Tip

If it’s “nagging,” it’s worth addressing.

Most injuries don’t start as one big moment. They start as tightness, soreness, or a little ache that keeps showing up. And when you keep training through it without a plan, your body usually finds a way to make you listen.

Here are a few signs it’s time to get it checked:
• It’s been lingering more than 7 to 14 days
• It comes back every time you run, lift, or play
• You’re changing the way you move to “work around it”
• It feels worse the next day instead of better

The good news: you don’t have to stop everything. Most of the time, we can help you modify training, calm it down, and strengthen what’s contributing to it so you can stay active while you heal.

Erin McCloud, a basketball player at Hagerty High School, recently celebrated her Senior Night 🏀✨ Dr. Katie was able to be there in the stands, cheering her on, and spending time with Erin and her family on such a special night.

At B Physical Therapy, this is what means the most to us. We care deeply about our patients, not just as athletes, but as people. We celebrate the wins, we show up for the milestones, and we walk through the hard seasons right alongside you.

Erin has worked with Dr. Katie since 2022, when she first came to us with lower back pain. Like many athletes, she faced her share of strains and sprains along the way, but her biggest hurdle was a torn ACL. Rehab takes more than just exercises. It takes grit, patience, and a whole lot of heart. Erin brought all of that. With dedication and resilience, she put in the work and earned her way back onto the court, finishing her senior season strong.

We’ve truly loved being part of Erin’s journey and supporting her through every step. Watching her succeed has been such a gift, and we are so proud of the athlete and young woman she is becoming.

Hello, February ❄️
If January didn’t go exactly as planned, this is your reminder that you can reset without starting over.

At B Physical Therapy, we see it all the time. People don’t quit their fitness goals because they stop caring. They quit because pain shows up, training feels harder, and it starts to feel easier to give up than to keep going.

But pain does not have to be the end of your progress. With the right plan, you can recover, modify your training, and stay active while your body heals.

February is a perfect time for a reset because January races are finished, so runners can come in for a running analysis and start a new strength program winter sports are wrapping up, so athletes can finally address nagging injuries and rebuild for what’s next

We’re heading back to f45_training_lakemary next Friday, February 6th!

Dr. Kaplan will be there in the morning from 7:00am to 9:30am to help anyone who is having aches or pains.
