Thank you to everyone who came to our Grand Reopening. It truly was amazing to see so many wonderful people come and join in the fun with our residents and staff.

A special thank you goes out to Monte Mowry and crew for bringing all the country to the city. Tank the horse 🐴 was delightful and the tractor 🚜 rides were spectacular.

The support and volunteers from LeadingAge Minnesota were so helpful in making sure everyone was having a safe, good time.

Last but not least we thank the entire Cedar Lodge staff for coming together to make this a successful event.

Introducing a New Name with Deep Roots.

We’re excited to announce that Traditions of Owatonna will be proudly known as Cedar Lodge — a name that reflects both our cherished past and the vibrant future we’re building together.
This rebranding is more than just a new name. It represents the positive transformation underway since Prairie Cottages took over management. From the very beginning, our goal has been to enhance the quality of life for our residents while honoring the legacy of care this community has always provided.
One of our very own residents, Alexis, played a special role in shaping our new identity. She thoughtfully suggested adding “Cedar” — a nod to Cedar Avenue, a major the heart of our neighborhood and a symbol of connection. Her insight helped ground our new name in the community we love.
Much has changed for the better: the building now boasts improvements in landscaping, a freshly painted interior, lighting, variety in our menu, parking lot improvements, and important repairs — all contributing to a more beautiful and welcoming environment. Our activity calendar is fuller than ever, with more events, laughter, and meaningful moments for residents and families alike.
At Cedar Lodge, you’ll feel the difference the moment you walk through the door — greeted by warm smiles, friendly voices, and a sense of belonging that runs deep.

Traditions 2 is conveniently located within walking distance of Manthey Park providing a beautiful place for our residents to get fresh air and enjoy nature. From the moment you enter this apartment community, you will feel comfort and the freedom to live your life to the fullest. Whether you want to sit outside and enjoy our peaceful private courtyard or engage in activities with your neighbors, we will provide the perfect place for you to live carefree.

Traditions 2 has two units, one for assisted living and one for memory care. These units both offer a range of cozy studio style apartments.
