Let’s talk yoga props!

Props are not a crutch, they’re a pathway.

Most people think that if you use a block, strap, or bolster, it means you’re not strong enough or not flexible enough. The truth? Props are for everybody and every body.

Here’s why props are powerful:
•Support → Blocks and bolsters meet your body where it is, creating safe alignment.
•Depth → Straps and blocks help you find more length and explore poses without strain.
•Rest → Blankets, bolsters, and blocks allow your nervous system to soften and truly release.

Think of props like friends on your mat…they’re there to lift you up, support you, and help you grow.

Each prop has several different uses to help in your practice. Which would you like to see demonstrated first?

✨ Take a pause. ✨
In the middle of a busy week, it’s easy to get caught up in “go, go, go.” Today, give yourself a moment to reset:
1. Find a comfortable seat or simply place both feet on the ground.
2. Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
3. Place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly.
4. Take three slow breaths in and out.
5. Ask yourself gently, “What do I need today?”

Maybe it’s rest. Maybe it’s movement. Maybe it’s a glass of water or a conversation with a friend. Whatever comes up, honor it.

Share your word, phrase, or intention in the comments to inspire someone else’s midweek reset.

✨Anjali Mudra✨

You’ve probably seen this gesture in yoga, palms pressed together at the heart. But, did you know it’s rich with history and meaning?

Anjali comes from the Sanskrit word for “offering” or “salutation,” and mudra means “seal” or “gesture.” Together, Anjali Mudra is often translated as the gesture of reverence.

Anjali Mudra has roots in ancient India, appearing in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions as a way to greet, honor, or pray. This gesture can be traced back thousands of years as a physical symbol of unity, respect, and humility.

So, why do we use it in yoga?
▫️To center the mind and connect with the heart space
▫️As a moment of gratitude before or after practice
▫️To create symmetry and balance in the body
▫️As a reminder that yoga is not just movement, it’s connection

Next time you bring your hands to Anjali Mudra, try feeling it not just as a pose, but as an offering…to yourself, to the practice, to the world around you.

✨ Savasana isn’t just the nap at the end of class, it’s the moment your practice truly lands. ✨

This final pose is where we shift from doing to simply being. It’s where the body absorbs the benefits of the movement, the mind softens, and the nervous system resets. 🌿

In stillness, we integrate.
In silence, we heal.
In surrender, we rise renewed.

Don’t skip Savasana. It’s not just rest, it’s the essence of your practice. 🧘

Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself is show up on the mat.

A yoga class isn’t just exercise…it’s a pause. A deep breath. A way to return to yourself.

You don’t have to “feel ready.” You just have to come as you are.

Yoga counts as self-care. Work us into your routine this week, you deserve it. 🌿
