March is Sleep Awareness Month and MainStreet wants to keep you informed with some of the positive and negative effects associated with sleep.
We often assume that not getting enough sleep just means you're going to be tired and need an (extra!) coffee the next morning, but sleep has so many more effects on the body than just your tiredness.
When you're asleep, your body has time to do a lot of little processes that help keep us happy, healthy, and feeling good, so we all need to make sure it's not something we neglect.
The amount of sleep you need varies drastically depending on your age, but for most adults 7 hours is generally considered a minimum for a healthy amount of sleep, while for newborns that number is closer to 14 and goes down as you age.
