When the school year ends, many kids struggle to maintain a consistent schedule which can lead to emotional and behavioral problems at home. Helping your child or teen establish a new summer routine, such as a sleep schedule, involvement in a day camp, or mixing screen time with outside time, can reduce these problems and make it easier to transition when school starts again in the fall.

Many parents think (or hope) that when their child or teen is struggling, “it’s just a phase” or “they’ll grow out of it.” While that may be true for some, there is no harm in asking for a second opinion to avoid delaying treatment if it’s needed.
