We are proud to recognize Denise Phillips as our August Employee Spotlight!

Denise is the Office Manager in Calhoun County and has been with Communicare for 15 years, two as office manager. Her day consists of supervising and supporting her staff, including case staffing and training, providing some therapy services, handling crisis, and reviewing clinical documentation.

“Mental health is dear to my heart. I grew a passion for it during my freshman year in college. I also find pride in serving the county in which I grew up in,” she shared.

She wishes more people knew, “Everyone is a worthy human being. If you are here, it means you have purpose…small victories bring so much joy for the client and clinicians.”

What some may not know is that Denise is a veteran who served 21 years in the military with three deployments. Outside of work, she loves shopping, football, and watching vloggers on YouTube.

On September 2nd, Mayor Tannehill officially recognized September as Su***de Prevention and Awareness Month. This month, the Oxford Police Department joins others across the country in recognizing Su***de Prevention and Awareness Month.

The Oxford Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team is committed to supporting mental health in our community. Trained to respond with compassion and care, our CIT officers work to connect individuals in crisis with the help they need, because every life matters. 💙
