Sometimes it’s the smallest moments—or creatures—that remind us of something important. 🐵
Punch the monkey captured our hearts, but behind the viral moment is the truth that connection is everything. 🫶

In recovery, community has always been the foundation, from the earliest fellowships to the support systems people rely on today.

And that’s why we created the AACTogether alumni app. We want to make sure Oxford alumni stay connected long after discharge! ❤️

Whether it’s a tough day, a big win, or just needing someone who understands, your alumni community is right there.

Meetings. Messages. Milestones. Support in real time.

Connection changes everything! ❤️

If you’re part of the AAC family and haven’t joined AACTogether yet, DM us, and we'll get you connected!

One of the biggest barriers to treatment isn’t denial.
It’s confusion.

Detox. Residential. PHP. IOP.
The language alone can feel overwhelming.

If you’ve ever wondered:
• “Do I really need inpatient?”
• “Can I keep working?”
• “What if I’m not that bad?”

You’re asking the right questions.

At Oxford Treatment Center, determining the right level of care starts with a clinical assessment, not guesswork.

What’s something you’ve always wanted to understand about treatment levels of care?

When someone you love is struggling, it can feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders.

Your loved one is your priority.
Helping you find the care they need is ours.

You don’t have to figure this out on your own.
You don’t have to have all the answers.

Together, we complete the picture.

If someone you know is trying to help a loved one right now, share this
with them. ❤️

💡 Relapse prevention isn’t guesswork. It’s a skill!

Recovery works best when you practice the tools that actually protect it:
▪️ Spotting triggers
▪️ Planning for tough moments
▪️ Leaning on support networks

Skills + support = stronger recovery. 💪

Save this for yourself, or share it with someone who could use a reminder.

“How long does withdrawal last?”
The honest answer: It depends.

This is one of the first—and most important—questions we hear when someone reaches out about treatment.

Withdrawal occurs because the body and brain have become dependent on a substance. When use suddenly stops or drastically decreases, symptoms can surface as the body works to rebalance.

But detox isn’t “5 days and done.”
And it isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Timelines vary based on:
• The substance used
• How long it was used
• Physical health
• Mental health
• Individual brain chemistry

For some substances, especially alcohol, benzodiazepines, and opioids, withdrawal can be medically complex and should be done under professional supervision.

Detox safely stabilizes the body and lays the foundation for a more comprehensive treatment plan.

If fear of withdrawal is keeping you or someone you care about from asking for help, that’s exactly why medical detox exists: to make the process safer, more manageable, and individualized.

🇺🇸 New Veteran Su***de Data Underscores the Need for Action 🇺🇸

A recent article in Military.com highlights the latest Veteran su***de data from the VA and features insight from Philip Van Guilder, U.S. Army Veteran and our Director of Community Affairs at American Addiction Centers.

One of the most concerning findings:
61% of veterans who died by su***de were not receiving VA care in the year before their death.

As Philip shared, su***de prevention is not only about responding to crisis. It’s about addressing chronic pain, isolation, grief, declining health, substance use, and loss of purpose long before someone reaches
that point.

At Oxford Treatment Center, our Salute to Recovery program is designed specifically for Veterans and active-duty military personnel facing substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions.

We provide Veteran-specific programming, trauma-informed care, peer support, and evidence-based therapies that honor the strength, discipline, and resilience our service members already carry.

For providers, community partners, and families seeking Veteran-ready care, we remain committed to serving our Veterans.
