Meet Lila, one of the wonderful servers at Atria La Residence Steger. She brings more than just meals – she brings joy to every table she visits!

With Atria since 2021, Lila is always in a great mood and shares a special bond with residents. "You can always count on Lila for a smile and help. What a ray of sunshine," shares Wendy, one of the residents. Her kindness and bright smile make every mealtime feel like a moment of happiness.

All the staff and residents had a blast at our Casino Royale Social Series this week! We had some delicious foods made by our Executive Chef Alex Travis. Residents enjoyed, loaded fries or loaded nachos, stuffed mushrooms, shrimp cocktail cheese balls, a brownie parfait style desert, and a casino inspired Cranberry Orange mocktail. Residents also had a blast playing a casino inspired Keno Bingo! Always a good time at Holiday Lone Oak

Just a few days after moving in, and Kathleen and Arvin are already cutting a rug at Holiday Thornton Place!

Arvin was hesitant to make the move, but he quickly changed his tune. "I love the camaraderie here, the food and all of the people," he shares.

Kjell’s passion is woodworking. ⚒️

Originally from Norway, he came to the U.S. at just 15 and built a life in Seattle. After retiring, he and his wife Marilyn moved into a cottage at Holiday Hidden Lakes to be closer to family.

From piggy banks for his 24 great-grandchildren to handcrafted pens, clocks and birdhouses, Kjell is still an active craftsman. The workshop he set up in the cottage's garage is his happy place, and he’s even made hundreds of small wooden crosses for the community chaplain to share.

Marilyn says, “He’s always happiest in his shop." And with his talent and dedication, it’s easy to see why.

We’re proud to celebrate Bobby, a recent high school graduate who has been part of the Holiday Country Squire waitstaff team since age 15. He's heading off to study nursing at Missouri Western State University.

"One of my favorite parts about working at Country Squire has been having meaningful conversations with our General Manager," Bobby shares. He says these conversations have helped shape his goals for the future.

"He's a wonderful young man who we love," shares Shirley, one of the community's residents. With plans to become a traveling nurse, Bobby is set to make a difference while seeing the world.

Barbara said “yes to the address” at Holiday Country Squire! 🏡

A lover of walks, reading and opera music, she finds joy in life's little pleasures. "Nothing beats a glass of sweet iced tea," she laughs. Born and raised in Kansas, she's excited to live closer to her family.

Let’s give Barbara a warm welcome as she begins this new chapter at Holiday. We’re lucky to have her!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Today we had a fun and tasty time making ice cream in a bag! You just need a few ingredients, and it's really neat how this works! You shake, shake, shake, and then enjoy! Ice cream followed by bingo makes a great Friday!

Happy Birthday, Marie!🍦

Holiday Pinegate celebrated the 83rd birthday of one of their fabulous Resident Ambassadors with an ice cream social! Residents, friends, neighbors and family enjoyed sweet toppings galore and joined in a game of “How Well Do You Know Marie?” trivia.

"I want to share a huge 'thank you' to everyone who made the day so special," shares Marie. "I'm so glad you all celebrated with me. It was the best birthday I ever had."

Residents at Holiday Quail Run Estates created their own living masterpieces, nesting succulents into layers of soil, sand and rock to make terrariums. "The residents had fun making them," shares Melissa, the community's Engage Life Coordinator.

As we all reflect back to this day 24 years ago there are both tears and smiles. On 9/11/01 we lost many innocent lives. However, on 9/12/01 this nation came together as one as never before. Thank you so much to our local VFW post 1191 Commander Jennifer Berggren and Senior Vice Commander James "Tex" Shockley for being our guests on this special Patriot Day. Also, a big thank you to our very own fierce four foot something Marine Shelba Payton for her beautiful poems and singing. What a special time for all of us. Thank you also to Tim Batts for coming afterwards with some extra music entertainment this afternoon. As always a nice and fun day at Holiday Lone Oak!

Grandparents' Day was extra special this year! Leading up to the celebration, grandchildren dropped off their favorite “stuffies” to stay with residents for the week. The stuffed friends joined in on fitness classes, book clubs and even community outings – and we captured it all in photos to share with their grandchildren.

On Grandparents' Day itself, families reunited for Muffins with Grands, picked up their stuffies and keepsake photo booklets, played backyard games and ended the day with popcorn and a movie together.

It was a celebration of the love, laughter and the impact grandparents have on their families.

National Food Pantry Day was a great success! Thank you so much to my residents for showing out with your generosity. They donated a lot of boxed food, canned food, baby food, and other items for our local Family Services Society. This food will go to families in need in our community. Seven of our veterans went to a free fish fry at Bob's Drive in and had a great time! The rest of us tried our newest local pizza place Pizza Ranch (try the Mac and Cheese pizza). Followed by some great music with Richard Cox and bingo! Yes, it's been a big day and yes, we are tired lol. Great times were had and that's what matters!

Our men's group had a nice time socializing and eating at Pizza Inn today. Thanks, Chris, our hardworking maintenance man, for escorting these fine gentlemen today. So glad the guys enjoyed their time together.

Our ladies group enjoyed a delicious meal at Big Ed's. Some of the best country cooking around! This afternoon we had a fall craft studio followed by bingo. Busy and fun Wednesday at Holiday Lone Oak!

BONJOUR!!!! Our social series this week took us to France! We had many laughs and a great time! Throw in some French inspired cuisine from Alex, Mike, and our wonderful culinary team it was tres bien (very good)! Stay tuned next month to see where we will visit!

Our Great Outdoors social series was such a success! Thank you to LBL Woodland Nature Station for coming and talking about and sharing with us some of Kentucky's wildlife. Also, thanks to our Executive Chef Alex for our amazing trail mix and delicious s'mores cupcakes!
