We want our clients to know the faces—and the hearts—behind their care.

At UEW, our people truly make the difference. 💙

Our Employee Spotlight series is our way of introducing our staff to the clients and families we serve while celebrating the care and dedication behind every visit.

This week, we’re proud to spotlight Candy Collier, Patient Services Coordinator, who ensures all visits—from our nurses to our home health aides—are scheduled accurately and efficiently, helping our clients receive consistent, reliable care.

When she isn’t managing schedules, she’s helping keep the office running smoothly with her hard work and great sense of humor.

Thank you, Candy, for always showing up for our patients!

Before it was a legacy site, it was a place where thousands of men and women showed up every day to do important work for this country.

From 1952 through 2012, the Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant played a major role in our nation’s defense and energy production—powering a significant portion of the United States and supporting decades of national security efforts.

But behind that history are the people—the workers, the families, and the community that carried it all.

This video takes a look back at the history of the Paducah site—how it started, how it operated, and the impact it left behind. Comment below if you see anyone you know in the video!

At United Energy Workers Healthcare, we’re proud to care for many of those who were part of that story. If you or a loved one worked at PGDP, you may be eligible for benefits through the EEOICPA White Card program—and we’re here to help you navigate it.

The Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant is a 750 acre uranium enrichment facility located near Paducah, Kentucky. The P.G.D.P. was operational and mass producing...

Our Metropolis, Illinois case manager, Kalli Harris, RN, out in the community this week 💙

Kalli spent time with students at Reidland Middle School talking about nursing, healthcare careers, and what the job really looks like day to day. We’re proud to have nurses who care not just for our patients, but for the communities around them.

This is the kind of heart we value at UEW. 💙

At United Energy Workers Healthcare, our patients aren’t case files—they’re former energy workers and families who deserve care that understands their history, exposures, and benefits.

We specialize in EEOICPA / White Card care, with nurses who know DOL requirements and advocate for the care you’re entitled to—not just the minimum. We provide in-home care with dignity, consistency, and respect.

If you or a loved one has a white card and wants a team that truly understands this program and the people it was created to provide for, we’re here. https://uewhealth.com/

Today, we honor the strength and resilience of our patients who have faced cancer.

World Cancer Day, observed each year on February 4, is a global effort to raise awareness, encourage prevention and early detection, and improve access to cancer care worldwide.

Many former nuclear and energy workers were exposed to hazardous materials on the job, often years before the long-term health risks were fully known. As a result, many DOL white card patients are living with or have survived cancers including lung, prostate, skin, blood, colon, and kidney cancers.

Early screening and ongoing follow-up are especially important for those with a history of workplace exposure.

If you or someone you love worked at a nuclear facility and has had cancer, you’re not alone. Questions and uncertainty are common and support may be available.

At United Energy Workers Healthcare, we’re proud to stand beside our patients, listening and advocating every day for the care, monitoring, and support they deserve.

Big thanks to Brandy, our UEW Outreach & Benefits Advisor, for treating the office today with Mama Kelly’s Dirty Sodas, pizza, and gifts. 🥤🍕 Many of our patients know Brandy from her time working at PGDP, and she continues to go above and beyond for both our team and the people we serve.

She does an incredible job spoiling us and putting together events for our patients throughout the year. We appreciate everything she does to support UEW—both behind the scenes and out in the community.

If you are a former nuclear worker with a white card and aren’t sure what benefits or support are available to you, Brandy is a great resource and can help point you in the right direction.

Thanks again, Brandy. We’re grateful for you.
