We got a lot of gifts this year, but my favorites were a sunny day at the beach, sweet friendship, and deep love with my family 🥰 and a new swimsuit, yoga pants and fancy face creams 😆 And time to shop, go to hot yoga, watch movies, bake cookies and cook new kinds of food! Happy to take time off from work and remember the spirit of Christmas🙏🏽❤️

I’m always grateful to have a second home in NoCal, with sweet friends, great food, and lots of quiet 🥰

We had a delicious retreat this weekend called Quiet Spaces, where we sat in silence, ate in silence, and danced in silence. When we spoke, we discussed deep topics about our habits and our inner being, and we chanted sacred mantra🙏🏽

A blessed way to enter December. We love you!

We talked about the importance of retreat centers and retreats themselves. Why are they meaningful to the future of humanity and the world? What is our mission and how do we keep our centers sustainable?

I attended a conference with other retreat directors from all over the continent at the beautiful Mt. Madonna Center in the Santa Cruz mountains. I left feeling so filled with spirit and reminders of why we do what we do. We’re living models of how humans can live more harmoniously with the Land and each other.

And naturally, we are guided by the wisdom of indigenous peoples and spiritual lineages.

While I learned so much from 40 other compassionate visionaries, I was most grateful to have Puja in the Temple 🥰 I was back in India ❤️

Thank you RCC and 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Meditation. I remind people that I hated meditation for the first 14 years of practicing it. I kept doing it because I met teachers, monks and life coaches who swore by it. They had a grounded and happy way about them. Finally, one day, meditation started to feel good. Right, and even nice. It stopped feeling like a waste of time and that constant need and desire to do something else, to be somewhere else or to feel productive began to subside.

Now, on seemingly busy days, sitting in silence has become a non-negotiable. Clarity comes and the things that really need attention are made known. Spaciousness and fluidity are results. Everything can be done—in its right time. We go fast when we need to go fast and slow down when the moment asks for it.

Reactivity. Triggers. Patterns. Programs. Which ones are running you? You’ll never really know if you don’t slow down and actively look. Observe, notice and inquire.

We are doing Mindful Mondays again to do just that. Stop and look. Listen.

Mondays in November
5-6pm PT / 3-4pm HST

I notice word and noise pollution in so many places. It’s rare to find people or spaces without phones, chatter, music, motors or traffic. Maybe I notice this because I spend so much time in the forest. I hear different conversations here, different sounds, different music.

If you’re craving the silence and a different kind of listening, please join me retreat December 5-7. Quiet Spaces is what we’ll create. Slowness. Laying down. Releasing. Receiving.

And if you can’t get away, join me for Mindful Mondays on Zoom 5-6pm PT. We can practice slowing down and getting quiet.
