Exciting times at Maui Behavioral Health Resources with our series of family fun events, “Hopeful Connections”! These gatherings are all about bringing together individuals in recovery to connect and build a supportive community 🎉

We kicked things off with beach gatherings then turned them into outings at the trampoline park! We are immensely proud of the success of this staff-led initiative 🙏 A heartfelt mahalo to everyone who joined us in fostering healthy relationships for our Ohana in a safe and sober environment. Together, we’re creating lasting connections! 🌺

September is National Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, and throughout the month we’ll be sharing resources, tools, and inspiring stories! Here are 4 Action Items for Su***de Prevention:

Start a Conversation - Having open, honest conversations about su***de can reduce stigma and help people feel less isolated.
Learn the Warning Signs - Understand the risk factors and warning signs so you can identify if someone may be struggling. These can include withdrawal from friends, increased substance use, and changes in sleep patterns.
Support Prevention Organizations - Support organizations like Maui Youth and Family Services that focuses on substance use prevention, counseling, and mental health programs to reduce self-harm.
Advocate for More Resources - Continue to advocate for more life-saving resources like Hawai’i Crisis Line 988 and Crisis Mobile Outreach.

Together, we can spread awareness, spark hope, and empower one another to keep moving forward. 💛

The Second Annual Day of Remembrance of Lahaina Town 🙏 We hosted a fun rock painting session for a beautiful new rock garden at - Lahaina Clubhouse.

It was heartwarming to chat with the keiki about their first week at school and all the exciting activities they were doing to create positive memories. We’re so grateful to be part of this rock garden project and honored to serve our community as we move forward, rebuild, and remember Lahaina Town.

Maui Behavioral Health Resources was excited to kick off the back-to-school season with Lahaina Intermediate and the Boys and Girls Club! 📚✨ We collaborated with the incredible staff who make daily impact in our youth’s lives! We hosted a fun Throw-Net Lesson for teachers to help them unwind as they prepare for the school year, and provided staff support to ’s leaders 💪🎉

Mālama ‘Āina 🪴 One of our values here at Maui Behavioral Health Resources. At MBHR’s Mālama Family Recovery Center, clients are demonstrating mālama ‘āina by catering to a budding garden.

Our clients take care of the compost bin, mix the ingredients to create rich soil, and watch their hard work grow into beautiful plants.

We have exciting plans to enrich our garden, offering even greater emotional and physical support to our clients 🌱 Big mahalo to Donna Vida for working in the garden with us!

Maui Youth & Family Services (MYFS), in partnership with Maui United Way and Sentry’s Mālama Nā Keiki Initiative, is expanding critical mental health services for keiki impacted by the Lahaina wildfires.
