This is great news promoting Midwifery-led care as beneficial to mothers and cost-effective for Medicaid patients! This could create quite a ripple effect in our healthcare system...

A new report from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) demonstrates that birth center care has a larger potential impact on the reduction of preterm birth risk than any other recent medical or public health intervention. Freestanding birth centers also lower cesarean rates, increase breastfeeding, and produce higher satisfaction with care.

There are MANY simple and no cost actions that families, friends and supporters can do to help increase the presence and scope of service for Midwives in the U.S. Using one's voice is more powerful than many realize.

Day 1 of ACNM National Midwifery Week. Focus: Educating Consumers!

Although Midwives care for women thru the lifespan, this infographic focus is on maternity care.

What do women want around their childbirth experience? Most research suggests four things:
