March was filled with so many memorable moments that our days were too full to post along the way! It's all about living in the moment, right!?

It all started with us finally feeling settled in our Palm Springs nest. And then it got hot! Like over 100° for multiple weeks hot! 🌡🔥😅

Vida decided to start getting up at 4:30 am every morning (maybe so she could get some playtime in before the heat hit 😆) so we've seen the sun rise every day since we've been here. EPIC sunrise hikes for sure!

(I'll have to do a separate post about Vida's hikes. That adventure kitten is really progressing!)

⭐️ OTHER MARCH HIGHLIGHTS ⭐️

I've had some super rich consultations with clients.

We've been reconnecting with our local retail partners Palm Springs Bottle Shop and Nature's Health Food & Cafe - Palm Springs

We devoured some tennis at the BNP championships! (It's the only sport I get excited to see live because we play and they're badasses! 👏🏼)

I got inspired by the spring equinox "new beginnings" vibes and got my hair cut... SHORT!

We've attended some of the fun events that The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert puts on! (Always feels so good to get welcomed back with open arms!)

I had the honor of getting all dressed up and attending the annual L-Fund gala where our friend, Mei Ling, was honored for her commitment to the community! (-Fund has empowered cis, trans, and queer-identifying le****ns in the greater Coachella Valley area with financial assistance to get through an immediate crisis, as well as assistance in the areas of health and wellness, the arts, and education since 2012!)

We've had fun catching up with friends!

AND DRAG, DRAG, AND MORE DRAG! If you don't already know that about us, we are huge fans and supporters of drag! We seek it out in every city we travel to! 💃🏽

Just so happens that Palm Springs is one of the meccas and our favorite queens just pop up unannounced at our neighborhood gay bar! 💫

One more precious month here before moving on! Let's see if we survive the heat this year! 😅

♡ SELF-LOVE SUNDAY ♡

If you're on a wellness journey, and today provides the opportunity to slow down, regenerate, and prepare for a positive week, consider taking a scroll through February's REAL food focused posts to gather some tangible information, tips, and tools!

And don't worry! We won't stop here! As 25 year+ veterens in health and wellness we feel super passionate about providing high-value resources for our community so it'll just keep comin'!

If we were to sum up the messages from REAL Food February...

KEEP YOUR FOOD SIMPLE.

KEEP IT REAL.

There are so many nutrition gurus out there these days, doing their best to reinvent the wheel in order to stand out. I GET IT! It’s tough to make it as a wellness professional!

Just remember…

1) Eating “healthy” does not need to be complicated. You don’t want to add to your stress.

2) Root yourself in the foundations before experimenting with special “diet” techniques and extremes. They’re usually not necessary to reach your goals.

3) Your body will tell you what’s working and what’s not.

I know committing to yourself can be the hardest step. Just remeber YOU DESERVE TO FEEL YOUR BEST! No one can take care of YOU like YOU can.

Prioritize time to set yourself up to succeed. Create beautiful meals because you are worthy of it! 💜

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR BIGGEST TAKEAWAYS FROM REAL FOOD FEBRUARY 2026? We'd love to hear from you!

P.S. The simple dish in this picture is such a great representation of a balanced REAL food meal! You’ve got nourishing carbohydrates with a sprouted or soured whole grain bread, the cucumber, preserved lemon, capers, and microgreens. Plenty of protein via the organic, whole fat cream cheese or goat cheese and wild salmon. Not to mention the vital omega-3’s from the salmon and other nourishing fats from the cheese. Perfecto!👌

In celebration of the final day of REAL Food February 2026 we decided to cover a very important topic...

RAW dairy is REAL dairy! 👏🏼

For those of you who are unfamiliar with RAW dairy it's simply foods made from milk that hasn't been pasturized or homogenized. Basically dairy as nature intended, JAM-PACKED with vitamins, minerals, protein, healthy fats, probiotics, immunoglobulins, and LIVE enzymes to help us digest them!

FACT: Many people either think that dairy is unhealthy or that they're lactose intolerant because

1. They're not only consuming ultra processed dairy from animals living in unhealthy environments...

2. All the heat-sensitive nutrients, probiotics, and LIVE enzymes that aid in digestion have been killed by the pasturization process!

Most of our clients who thought they were lactose intolerant digest RAW dairy just fine 👍🏼

Now, many people think of pasturization as a good thing, and when it was first introduced it had some positive benefits. Picture big city life in the late 1800's. People whose ancestors had been benefitting from raw dairy for generations brought their cows, goats, and sheep as they migrated into the cities from rural areas. Some animals were sick from living in confined, unsanitary quarters with no fresh grass to eat and their milk was subpar at best and spoiled easily in a time w/o modern refrigeration. Of course the quality was questionable!

We live in a VERY different time now! Farms like are exemplary in their efforts to produce the healthiest dairy products around AND teach other producers to do the same 🙌🏼

Keep in mind our food system is political and "Big dairy" has plenty of reasons to vilify raw dairy. That type of "information" is plentiful!

We live in a time when WE HAVE TO SEE THROUGH THE INFLUENCED HEADLINES AND DO OUR OWN DIGGING in order to make informed decisions for our families!

We've been teaching about the benefits of raw dairy for 15+ years so here are some of our favorite resources:

All this talk about REAL food... It's high time we discuss digestion!

One comment that we hear from our community as they're making changes in the way they eat is that their digestion changing as well. More fiber and protein are a good thing but they might initially bring on a little digestive "confusion" as your body adjusts.

An excellent approach to supporting our bodies through dietary transition, or during the occasional indulgence, is to tap into our herbal allies!

🤜🏼💫🌱💫🤛🏾

Digestive bitters are plants that have a bitter flavor. When we eat them or take them in an extracted form they stimulate the production of saliva, gastric juices, healthy amounts of stomach acid, and enzymes thereby enhancing our ability to digest efficiently. Cool, right!?!

Bitter herbs help us utilize our amino acids and minerals more efficiently and have an affinity for supporting liver and gallbladder function so they especially helpful in digesting grounding meals that are focused on protein and healthy fats.

How do you use digestive bitters? We prefer them packaged in a spray bottle like our LIMONCELLO BITTERS so that we can just spray them in our mouths 10-15 minutes before meals. Or, if we're realizing after the fact that digestion isn't going too smoothly, we'll use 5-6 sprays periodically throughout the day to help things simmer down.

So easy, and with the garden-fresh lemons, chamomile, and touch of ginger, tasty too! We are never without them!

Another way to enjoy them is to spray them into a glass before adding your cocktail or mocktail ingredients. Pairs perfectly with 🌿🥂💫

FABULOUS addtion to the medicine cabinet or the bar cart! Just sayin'.

🌿 REAL Food February ~ Culinary Herbs 🌿

We can't talk about REAL food without talkin' about flava! Nothing takes fresh, whole foods to the next level better than culinary herbs! We can't live without 'em!

We're SOOO dedicated to having fresh herbs to cook with that we travel with this herb wall when we're on the move in the Zamora Vardo!

Our faves that don't mind the road trips are rosemary, chives, thyme, oregano, sage, lavender, and mint.

The ones that you'll always find in our pantry are turmeric, ginger, cumin, dill, cinnamon, curry blends, and plenty of fresh garlic.

And we could go on all day about the plethora of health benefits that these multitasking botanicals provide! Talk about food being our medicine! 💥

⭐️ What are some of your favorite culinary herbs? How do you like to use them?

Do you feel that committing to a healthier, REAL food path means giving up everything you love? I get it! It's a super common concern.

Life IS meant to be savored! Food is not only nourishment for our bodies but for our souls as well. For generations food has been at the center of family gatherings, celebrations, and community festivities. It's a beautiful part of our social web!

Trouble is that it feels so good to be in celebration mode that we want to do it all the time, right?

When we decide that we need to nourish ourselves on a deeper level we need to be open to a certain amount of change. Whether we have specific health goals, or we have an imbalance or illness that we have the opportunity to shift with healthier habits, we can't keep fueling our bodies the way we have been and expect different results, right?

So how do we maintain the idea that life's meant to be savored AND that we might need to reign it in a bit? COMPROMISE

1. If we are nourishing ourselves with fresh, whole, REAL foods the majority of the time then those "indulgences" don't take such a physical toll.

2. There are plenty of ways to make your favorite celebratory or "comfort foods" with REAL food ingredients.

Folks have to find the balance that's right for them. It's largely dependent on where you're starting healthwise and what your goals are, but nourishing yourself more deeply doesn't have to = deprivation.

This is why I was excited to find delicious, nourishing approaches to a dish that I associate with childhood nostalgia: pancakes! Birthday breakfasts, weekends with grandparents. Pancakes = happiness in my brain :)

Years ago when I started eating less refined grains, and especially since I stopped eating gluten, pancakes largely became a food of the past.

Now, every once in a while, I'll whip up a batch of fluffy coconut flour pancakes! (Recipe below.) Since low glycemic is my jam I omit the honey but I make up for it with a drizzle of coconut nectar. Completely satisfies the craving AND they're made with nourishing ingredients! Win win!

Today we land in Palm Springs-- our sweet home away from home!

Our nomadic lifestyle has allowed us to spend months at a time there for many years. We love immersing ourselves in the beauty of the desert, the healing sunshine, and the rich community support that only the gay mecca of the United States could provide! 🌴🌈💫
