Four years ago, I embarked on a journey with no clear destination. I signed up to train as a coach, not really knowing what coaching was all about.

Two years ago, I took a huge leap of faith—I left my lucrative income and hoped I wasn't shooting myself in the foot. I set goals, saw the vision, and, with the help of many, pushed myself even when I wanted to quit and felt like I was doing it all wrong.

I set two long-term goals for myself last year:

1. To match or exceed my monthly income from my previous businesses (financial freedom), and

2. To become an ICF-certified coach.

I'm thrilled to announce that I've achieved both goals!

I am now a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. This means I've completed 125+ hours of training, 500+ coaching hours, at least ten hours of mentor coaching, submitted two recorded client sessions demonstrating ICF competencies, and passed the 3-hour proctored ICF exam.

My training has included functional medicine, health & wellness, meditation & mindfulness, YouMap® (strengths-based coaching), career coaching, motivational interviewing, TTM (Transtheoretical Model), NVC (nonviolent communication), food addiction, mental health & nutrition, positive psychology, Internal Family Systems (parts work), & more.

In addition, over the last three years, I've been meeting weekly with other coaches to chat about coaching books. Monthly, I meet in a coaching salon to work through coaching scenarios. I'm lucky to have a mentor coach to help me improve my skills. I regularly journal, self-reflect, and have heart-to-hearts with my peers about how sometimes I fall flat on my face and other times feel like I'm facilitating the best changes in people.

In a nutshell, I've worked my ass off!

And it's been worth every single penny, minute, and sacrifice. I've reached the vision of making coaching my full-time career, and it feels damn good.

If you want to work with me or learn more about what I do, check out my website (www.colebeecoaching.com). I have a few projects up my sleeve for the future, and, of course, I LOVE helping people through career changes, life transitions, and lifestyle changes for better mental health.

Thank you to all my mentor coaches and coach colleagues: Amy Jogodnik Warshawsky, Betsy Salkind, Lyssa DeHart, Shelly-Anne Mckay, Everett Considine & Allegra Kussman Stein

And to Claire Coppel - GURL!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! Your sound coaching is the voice I hear when I want to give up.

And, of course, to Ryan- thanks, babe. Your support means the world.

Ever want to try a meditation practice that makes life easier?

ZivaONLINE was the first (of many meditation trainings) where I finally felt like, "This is IT!"

It's 15 days, 15-30 minutes in the morning, and today it's 21% off using code SURPRISE

Here are three things I often hear when I share my meditation practice with others that you might be thinking right as you read this:

🫨"Meditation doesn't work for me!"
As if they were expecting a miracle after one sitting. Meditation is a practice, not a one-and-done thing. Were you great at yoga the first time you tried it? The trumpet in 2nd grade? Sewing? Running? Nope. You start small, and you practice to mastery.

😬"I suck at meditation."
We all do! Here's the thing: we don't meditate to get good at meditation; we meditate to get good at life. My favorite story of Emily's was one of her clients calling her on the phone and saying, "I suck at this. I've been meditating for two weeks. Nothing is working when I sit to meditate."

Emily interrupted her, "How's your sleep?"

"It's great!"

"How's your stress level?"

"Actually, I haven't been stressed this last week at all."

"How's your relationships?"

"I've been less reactive. They are feeling more connected!"

"Okay then, byeeee!" click.

🧐"I always think the entire time."
And to that, I say, Good! Thoughts are normal! Telling your brain to stop thinking is like telling your heart to stop beating. It's impossible! So stop white-knuckling your mediation and let that effort go.

Curious and have questions? I'm free today to answer them! Use code SURPRISE and get a self-care practice that will change your life.

The world feels insane and out of touch right now.

I watch what is happening around the world, and my left brain starts to ruminate on "How can I fix this?"

Which we all know, I can't fix the world.

But I can shift my energy to focus on what is most important in my immediate surroundings. Whether to support my mind, body, friend, or community, I've found simple strategies that take less than minutes to lift me back up.

And no, they aren't breathwork, drinking more water, and 10 minutes of yoga a day (though those do help too!)

From...
Stress to content.
Worry to calm.
Stagnant to action.

I want to share these strategies with you and see your fabulous face Hollywood Squares Style, aka zoom. (Did I just age myself?)

My sister told me the other day, "You win everything! And you seriously kick the crap out of every goal you set out to do."
The majority of raffles I put my name in, scratching off winning lottery numbers, passing huge exams, fitting into my high school jeans, whatever it is, I get it done.

Some might call it luck. Others say it's from hard work.

Both are probably true.

But I know that when I set out to do something, win something, or earn something, if I believe I am worthy of it and visualize how I will feel once I get it, who I will celebrate with, and sink into that feeling as if it's already mine, I seem to win more often.

A week and a half ago, I told my coaching book club that I put my name in for a land lottery ticket. Being typical coaches, they got super curious about what that meant.

I explained it's a raffle where two lucky winners will be drawn out of a bucket. I bought the ticket to not only play with luck but also, if I were to win, letting that be a message from the universe telling me there is more in Skagway for me. I shared my ideas about what I might want to do with the land if I win.

They all stared at me in their zoom squares with smiles and excitement, believing this was a possibility for me.

The host had everyone close their eyes and visualize me on the land. We took two minutes, all deeply connected to the idea that I would win, and left the book club with anticipation.

That night, the first lottery number was drawn, and the lucky winner got the first dib on the two pieces of land. The second number was pulled out of the can, and she wasn't present. You have to present to win.

Then the third number was drawn, #4. Me.

Some might say winning is pure luck.

Some might say winning is from hard work.

I like to think that whatever I manifest **that is meant for me** will become a reality. That it's not about getting what I think I want, but about receiving what is of the highest good for my current journey and those around me.

Your thoughts and beliefs manifest into things. I recommend believing the good ones.

Skagway Community:

Join me on December 18th from 3-5 at the Skagway Public Library to learn what manifestation is and the four steps to manifesting, why it is essential, and how a vision board can help.

You can pick up magazines and a manifestation worksheet at the library before or during class.

I recommend doing the worksheet before the class. If you would like me to email the worksheet, I can do that for you! Send me a DM!

If you aren't ready to create a vision board, join us anyway to learn, connect and feel inspired.

ps. This class is free but with immense value. I would love to see you there.

10/20/2021

A friend called me the other day.

She hit rock bottom in the pit of exhaustion.

I won't go into details, but I could tell she might benefit from an emotional dump.

An emotional what?

An emotional dump is a process of letting go of the thoughts that are constipating you & possibly keeping you stuck.

The key to healthy dumping/venting is when you have permission from the listener to spill your thoughts. There are boundaries, possibly time limits, & the listener is in a place to actively listen.

Constant dumping can be unhealthy in relationships, especially w/o consent.

After my friend's release, she stopped crying.
Her words got lighter.

The part of her beating herself up got smaller, & her compassionate self started showing up.

Later she texted me thanking me for giving her "permission to fall apart.”

Permission.

You hold it together for your families, your friends, your job.

Mostly with a smile on your face.

When you finally let a feeling out that is considered "emotional," you might apologize.

"I'm sorry for crying."
"I'm sorry, I'm so angry."
"I'm sorry I feel this way, but..."

Have you ever apologized for feeling happy? Probably not.

So why do you apologize for other feelings?

Giving yourself permission to feel & express those emotions is essential.

✨Emotional Dumping Steps & Guidelines

Step 1:
Write out the following:

I am sad because...
I am angry about...
I am afraid because...
I am disgusted because...
I trust that...
I am surprised about...
I am excited for...
I feel joy because...
Add in other feelings* if needed.

Feel free not to answer any prompts above that don't feel relevant to your situation.

Step 2:
Answer the prompts by either speaking them out loud or writing them down.

✨General guidelines for doing this with a partner:

Read the prompts out loud to the person who is emotionally dumping.

Do not interrupt the person with comments or opinions.

Do not try to find solutions or fix the feeling.
Listen & hold space.

End on a positive feeling.

Take a couple of deep breaths together when finished.

Connect by affirming: “You’re okay. Letting go helps you.”

A hug helps too.

Have a nice dump!

Hi friends and new followers,

It’s the last day of Self-Care Awareness month, and if you’re new here, welcome!

I'm Nicholle, aka Cole.

I like bees. 🐝

I dance a lot. 💃

I value health - so much I became a certified functional health & wellness coach.

I believe mental health should be taught in schools, just like in PE class. Think MH Class.

I believe movement shifts energy.

I meditate and teach it.

I manifest.

I swear sometimes.

I struggled with clinical depression for more than six years.

I observe my thoughts almost every day. (Like, “oh hey there nasty thought, I see you. I got this. Thanks, but byyeeeee!!”)

I'm live in a Mr. Rogers-type town in Alaska and own three 1/2 businesses.

I'm an activating achiever, go-getter, busy bee.

I live aligned to my values so that I may be less anxious, less burnt out, and more mentally amazing.

And I want that for you too.

Lifestyle habits, thought patterns, sleep, connection - being mindful of how you think, eat, and move, and what you think, eat, and move all have a play in how you feel physically and mentally.

Today's final challenge is to set your Self-Care intentions for October.

I'll be focusing on studying for the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaches Certification and adequate sleep. 😴

If you’ve been following me for a while, you might sense a theme here with my posts on AM/PM routines, tips for winding down at night, and getting quality sleep.

It’s the greatest act of self-care, IMO. When your sleep is healthy, you can focus on what matters most to you in more efficient and smart ways.

🍁What are your October plans?

Writing them down is helpful. It’s like making a plan, and your brain starts to follow.

If you want a free focus/habit tracker that’s like the one in the last pic, click the link in my bio and on “gifts for you!”

Happy 🎃🍁 month,

Cole

✨September is Self-Care Awareness Month!✨

I made you a calendar! It’s filled with self-care prompts for you to follow along throughout the month.

If you don't have a self-care practice, now is your chance. If you do, guard that practice like it's your most valued treasure, because… and round 2 (or is it 3, or 4? what wave are we having?) of Covid isn't looking pretty.

Sign up to receive a printable calendar (link in bio) and follow along with for posts that will inspire and inform.

Why bother?

Well, here's three valid reasons to start making self-care a daily thing.

☝🏻Stress leads to burnout. We ALL need a little extra care and love, especially during these times. Self-care helps relieve some of that stress and gives you more space to breathe.

✌🏻You are only as helpful to others as you are to yourself. A healthier YOU leads to healthier communities. 🌍

3️⃣ The shape of your mind is far more valuable than the shape of your body. Self-care helps you feel more mentally clear, organized, and less bogged down - so that you can make healthier decisions in your life.

Nicholle (me) will be posting IG posts that relate to the self-care calendar most days in September.

Of course, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. Pick the days you are curious about and note how it makes you feel.

To let me know you are participating:

1. Download the calendar - link in bio.

✨✨2. Follow Nicholle Chandler for inspiration.✨✨

3. Share your self-care activities in a post or story and use and/or tag me so that I and others can see what you are doing as inspiration and accountability. (Except on Sept 13th!)

4. Have fun! This should not be one more thing to add to your "to-do" list.

Finding your favorite things is taste-testing life.

You've researched and had experiences to find what works and doesn't work for you.

A few may stand out, and those are your favorites versus things that are just "okay."

That is what I have been doing during my mental well-being journey for the last ten years.

Seeking, researching, testing, dumping, and loving so many resources, tools, habits, books, podcasts, and more.

And now I am sharing those things with you!

Have you ever heard this word before?

Pronoia is thinking this:

💫 People are plotting behind your back to assist you. (Thank your pals!)

💫 The Universe is conspiring to deluge you with blessings. (Yes, please!)

I read an article recently (in comments) called '8 steps to Conquer the Beast Within'. It made me think about the start of my "beast" & how I navigated to health.

When I was 28, I had my first anxiety attack.

I was in Turkey with a man who, the day before, was asking me what style of engagement ring I liked.

One minute I was all smiles, in love, & on cloud nine.

And then I wasn't, with nothing to explain the shift.

Little did I know, my anxiety was telling me something.

Looking back, I didn't honestly know him or myself well enough. The ring shopping made it too real & my anxiety was telling me to step back.

Following the abrupt anxiety attack came its best friend, Depression. The two commonly go hand in hand, & the heartbreak was real.

During my many years of discovery & recovery, I learned a lot about my mental health & needs. I had an MTHFR gene mutation, candida overgrowth, a poor diet, & stressed out, all of which contribute to my mental health.

The one area that doctors didn't mention, though, was values.

It's not common for a doctor to bring this up. However, in health coaching, I find clients progressing more quickly when they live a values-based life.

The once confusion of my first anxiety attack made more sense.

I was skipping along in fairytale land, but really I...

*Felt disconnected from myself & reality. (Connection is my #1 value)
*Wasn't communicating my needs. (Communication is #2)
*Said yes to things that didn't serve me; food, bad habits, people-pleasing. (Health is #3)

The list could go on.

Take values quiz in comments.

Whenever I feel the "beast" creeping back in, I look at my actions.

✨Do my actions reflect my values?
✨Am I walking a clear line?

Whatever "beast" you hold, have you ever tracked when it's worse and/or better? Notice a pattern?

The article is excellent information on why tracking can help tame your beast & live a healthier life. Tools like these are helpful, but navigating with a thinking partner is a game-changer. If you need support moving forward in your mental health journey, DM me.

People need other people.

It took me years & countless tools to beat my beast.

Let's shorten that process for you. @ Ketchikan, Alaska

Golden milk. Turmeric latte. Bee Golden Latte.

So many names but the same healing properties.

It's my go-to when my body starts telling me I need rest & healing.

✔️Caffeine-Free
✔️Antioxidant
✔️Anti-inflammatory
✔️Raw

•1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
•1/2 tsp ginger powder
•1/2 tsp turmeric powder
•1 tsp raw organic honey - always ALWAYS raw.
•2 tsp coconut oil*
•50ml cold non-dairy milk (just under 1/4 a cup)
•200ml boiled water (just under 1 cup)
•Optional pinch of black pepper

Instructions:
1. Place all ingredients into a blender, adding the hot water last.
2. Blend until frothy.
3. Pour into your favorite mug. ☕️
4. Sprinkle a little cinnamon on top for that extra special touch of LOVE! ❤️

*Blending coconut oil or organic grass-fed butter in with 'superfoods' helps you to increase the absorption and bioavailability of the nutrients. The fat molecules get dispersed with the nutrients when blasted in a blender, and then the nutrients become protected by the fat coating as it enters the digestive system.

✨✨Benefits✨✨
•Reduces inflammation
•Prevents cell damage
•Improves mood
•Supports brain function •Improves memory
•Prevents heart disease
•Possibly reduces the risk of cancer
•Lowers blood sugar levels
•Boosts the immune system
•Improves Digestion
•Improves bone health

💁🏼‍♀️Tip: Use a magic bullet for less clean-up.

I’ve always been motivated by stars. Like in the 3rd grade, when you get that bright shiny gold star on your assignment. Or, as an adult, you receive an “employee of the month” award with a gold star on the framed paper. It’s oddly motivating for me.
