Four years ago, I embarked on a journey with no clear destination. I signed up to train as a coach, not really knowing what coaching was all about.
Two years ago, I took a huge leap of faith—I left my lucrative income and hoped I wasn't shooting myself in the foot. I set goals, saw the vision, and, with the help of many, pushed myself even when I wanted to quit and felt like I was doing it all wrong.
I set two long-term goals for myself last year:
1. To match or exceed my monthly income from my previous businesses (financial freedom), and
2. To become an ICF-certified coach.
I'm thrilled to announce that I've achieved both goals!
I am now a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation. This means I've completed 125+ hours of training, 500+ coaching hours, at least ten hours of mentor coaching, submitted two recorded client sessions demonstrating ICF competencies, and passed the 3-hour proctored ICF exam.
My training has included functional medicine, health & wellness, meditation & mindfulness, YouMap® (strengths-based coaching), career coaching, motivational interviewing, TTM (Transtheoretical Model), NVC (nonviolent communication), food addiction, mental health & nutrition, positive psychology, Internal Family Systems (parts work), & more.
In addition, over the last three years, I've been meeting weekly with other coaches to chat about coaching books. Monthly, I meet in a coaching salon to work through coaching scenarios. I'm lucky to have a mentor coach to help me improve my skills. I regularly journal, self-reflect, and have heart-to-hearts with my peers about how sometimes I fall flat on my face and other times feel like I'm facilitating the best changes in people.
In a nutshell, I've worked my ass off!
And it's been worth every single penny, minute, and sacrifice. I've reached the vision of making coaching my full-time career, and it feels damn good.
If you want to work with me or learn more about what I do, check out my website (www.colebeecoaching.com). I have a few projects up my sleeve for the future, and, of course, I LOVE helping people through career changes, life transitions, and lifestyle changes for better mental health.
Thank you to all my mentor coaches and coach colleagues: Amy Jogodnik Warshawsky, Betsy Salkind, Lyssa DeHart, Shelly-Anne Mckay, Everett Considine & Allegra Kussman Stein
