The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA) established the following regulatory procedures for such claims for dietary supplements:

Structure/function claims describe the role of a nutrient or dietary ingredient intended to affect normal structure or function in humans, for example, ‘calcium builds strong bones.’ Also, they may characterize the means by which a nutrient or dietary ingredient acts to maintain such structure or function, for example, ‘antioxidants maintain cell integrity.’

While we are very grateful for any user feedback, product claims by Facebook community members must adhere to these rules by the FDA. Standard Process cannot allow comments claiming that diseases are treated, cured or prevented by supplements. Potato chains might not sound glamorous, but they play a big role in our root harvest season.

Our team uses the WIC root harvester for red beets, Spanish Black Radish, and turnips. This impressive machine uses a series of potato chains; open metal links designed to gently shake the soil from each root as it’s dug.

The idea is simple: let the dirt stay in the field and out of our processing rooms. 🌱
Once harvested, the roots continue through three more dry-cleaning steps that use these same chain systems to naturally remove dirt. By the time they’re ready to be washed and cubed, we’ve already conserved a significant amount of water.

A little vibration, a lot of efficiency, and a great reminder that smart designs support both quality and sustainability. 💧
