Find A Match for Mike Michael is a 43 year old energetic person who can make anyone laugh. He is the type of person who would do anything for anyone. He needs a healthy kidney.

Despite struggles with his health, Michael has stayed kind, positive and believes that God has a plan. Michael was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome at one year old. This is a very rare disorder of the kidneys the causes the body to excrete too much protein in the urine. As a result he faced several health problems through his childhood and adult life but overall, he did not let it hold him back.

He has a huge personality and never meets a stranger. But now Michael's kidney function has reached a crucial point. And his family and friends who love him need him to get a healthy kidney. Though family and loved ones have come forward, an acceptable match has not been found. This page is being set up in hopes of finding an exceptional person who's gift of being a living donor would help save the life of someone who means so much to many. This person would be a true hero not just to Michael, but to all those who love him. Facts about donating a kidney.

-Donating a kidney does not increase your chances of developing health problems.

Mike Regua is doing well. He's hurting but it's normal, no infections or anything, was just a big surgery. They did an ultrasound this morning and the surgeon just came in. Said there is a part of the kidney that is darker, its not getting good blood flow. They are putting him on a high dose blood thinner now to see if that helps. Also said there was a lot if scar tissue inside and this "was not an easy transplant". Will do another ultrasound in 24hrs.

Physical Therapy made him get up today and he is sitting in a recliner in the room for a few hours. Gets to start a renal diet today so he's off clear liquids which he is happy about. Hasn't really eaten in 3 days now so I bet a real meal will do wonders.

Today is pre-op. Micheal is at Tulane getting all the information he needs for the surgery Wednesday. Every one keep praying. Two more days. 🙏

Micheal has a match! He is getting a new kidney on October 13th. The hospital called him yesterday and confirmed everything. So happy and thankful for everyone who prayed and spread the word. ❤🙏🏨

Just want to thank everyone for their efforts in trying to find Mike a kidney. I believe in my heart that all you have done or are doing has helped. The fact that everybody involved is helping find a kidney means a lot to Mike. It also means a lot to all our family. There are no words that I can say but thank you for loving Mike. I want everybody know that I know in my heart he will get a kidney.
Mike is a very loving person. He drives me crazy but I love him so much. What u wouldn't do for your kids. It's in God's hands. It will happen. Thank you all all again and thank you to the people we don't know that came forward and are being tested. Thanks everyone.
