Medical Biller at Neurological Services Medical Center

Job Responsibilities:
• Generate and submit accurate claims for neurological services rendered to insurance companies, government programs, and other third-party payers.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Review and interpret medical documentation, including physician notes and procedure codes, to assign appropriate billing codes.
• Conduct regular audits and quality checks to identify and resolve billing errors or discrepancies.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, physicians, and administrative staff to obtain necessary information for billing and claims processing.
• Follow up on unpaid claims, denied claims, and overdue balances to ensure timely resolution and maximize revenue.
• Stay up to date with insurance regulations, coding changes, and reimbursement guidelines specific to neurological services.
• Provide support and guidance to patients regarding insurance coverage, billing inquiries, and payment options.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines when handling sensitive patient information.
Requirements:
• Experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a neurology practice or a healthcare setting specializing in neurological services.
• Strong knowledge of billing processes, insurance claim submission, and reimbursement procedures related to neurology.
• Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding for neurological procedures and diagnoses.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve billing discrepancies and denials.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
• High level of professionalism and integrity in handling sensitive financial and medical information.
