When I started my plant-based journey, it was all about my health.
After being diagnosed with cancer in college, I was determined to stay healthy and disease-free. 💪
And reading The China Study opened my eyes to the incredible healing power of plants.
That was my first step.
A few months later, I stumbled across the documentary Earthlings, which exposes the suffering of animals in factory farms and research labs.
Up to that point, I had never considered myself to be an “animal lover” in any sense of the term.
I never had pets growing up (besides a few hermit crabs), and I never thought to question the morality of eating or using animals.
But that film changed everything.
It forced me to confront a painfully obvious fact that I had been blissfully ignorant of my entire life: animals feel love, joy, sadness, and pain. Just like us.
I realized we are all Earthlings, and we all deserve life.
That was all I needed to know.
I went vegan overnight.
My health and fitness journey immediately transformed from a personal goal to a higher purpose: proving that vegans can be super healthy and fit.
I wanted to prove the vegan haters wrong and show the world what is possible with plants.
Honestly, it was a slow start.
But I recently hit my 10-year vegan anniversary, and I'm in the best health and shape of my life. 🌱
Veganism has been one of my greatest teachers.
It has taught me compassion, sustainability, and the importance of aligning my actions with my values.
I'm incredibly grateful for all the lessons, and the healing power of plants.
To my fellow vegans, keep fighting the good fight.
Thank you for all you do for the animals.
Here’s to 10 years of living with purpose and passion — and many more to come.

(And yes, I achieved this transformation naturally. Using steroids or other PEDs does not align with my health and longevity goals.)
