Tiny Blessings Nurse Doula

birth was a special birth. Unfortunately hospitals became more strict and I had to be at the computer charting more, and I had to take on more than one laboring patient. This took away from my one on one time with each laboring mom. I knew I needed a change! I decided I wanted to be one on one with my patients while they labored. I would even want to do home visits! And this is when I was told about Montrice Doulas. For women who want to labor at home, but eventually go to the hospital just for the delivery a Montrice Doula is her option. Montrice's are able to preform some medical tasks such as vaginal checks (if the patient requests), blood pressure checks, and Doppler checks. This way unnecessary trips to triage are avoided. Once it is confirmed you are in active labor we go. Once at the hospital I am only a Doula at that point. The L&D nurses will take over the vaginal checks and b/p checks. I will be your 1 on 1 emotional and physical support. While they are charting, I am with you and your partner supporting you to bring your little one into the world!
