It’s really about your injector’s credentials + experience!
I am a board certified “Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist” (CANS) + have been injecting for 25+ years. I attend + lecture at least 4 major conferences every year.
Patient outcomes are NOT about the number of units used or number of syringes used but about product selection + strategic placement. As well as protecting your patient’s wallet ftom unnecessary expenditure.
Fillers + Tox only go so far. The aesthetic world is moving toward combination therapy!
It is about great skincare, lasers, peels + then understanding the anatomy for safety as well as understanding the unique personality of each product.
Everyone looks great immediately after injections. The real issue is what do they look like 2-3 weeks later?

As we age, the “fat pads” in our face begin to thin. This causes our skin to drop + creates laxity.

For women, a decrease in estrogen post menopause has been associated with an increase in skin dryness + decrease in skin elasticity, skin thickness + collagen content.

Bunny Lines 🐰

A common question I get from patients is when they should start doing preventative procedures? People worry about starting too soon or too late, but the reality is that we start aging the moment we’re born. Even babies should be protected with UV protective clothing, hats and mineral based sunblocks from the damaging effects of UV radiation on their skin. Teenagers often suffer from acne, starting topical retinoids not only helps their acne but has the preventative benefit of stimulating collagen which we lose the capacity to turn over at 1% with each year of life. At this age starting photofacials, or IPLs, not only will help one’s acne but studies have shown that after just 3 IPL treatments gene expression of aged skin changed to resemble that of younger skin.
It’s not just the skin that’s aging. Facial bone loss begins at the age of 25 in women, and is significantly less in those greater than 35 compared to those less than 35 years of age. In addition, bone loss exponentially increases with menopause as a result of a decrease in estrogen. As muscles like to find resting tone, with less bone, facial muscles are trying to contract onto volume that is no longer there. This results in the appearance of the ‘elevens’ or frown lines, as well forehead lines and crows feet. These lines start off only with expression and with time progress to being deep lines noticeable at rest, at which time may be too late to be fully effective. For this reason patients as early as their mid-20’s can consider preventative measures such as or that will not only help relax the muscles that cause wrinkles over the upper face, but have also been found to stimulate collagen and elastin fibers.
