December 1 ALREADY?!? I have some ideas for your holidays. At the moment, my skin is feeling the effects of a Minnesota winter (yes, I know technically it’s still fall). How does goat’s milk soap with skin benefiting Gold-Frankincense-and-Myrrh sound? Or Citrus-Tree? Pair with a lotion and lip balm as a gift set. Aaahhh.

Have I got a story for you!!! And it’s all about Honey’s Wound & Burn Balm. And Leon’s head. If you’re bald it gets banged up a lot but never as bad as a few days after I went to see my girls and their families in Oregon.

Just before leaving, I’d participated in Miltona Days Arts and Crafts fair and was way over prepared especially in the amount of this particular balm I made (on sale now at honeysehw.com).

So, when Leon told me he’s chingered up his head I knew he was all set! And then he sent the picture. It’s the big one below. And I suggested he might need stitches. He was having none of that! W&B Balm all the way for him!

You can see how it looked the next day and then a week later. Yeah. It’s good stuff. Everyone should have a tin!!

And if you don’t believe me, here’s what he said just after he applied it to that head of his and covered it up, “My head feels so much better, thank you so much. I see why my dad likes it so much. I love you.” And the next day, “it’s very soothing”, a day or two later “it’s healing pretty fast. You make good stuff.” Yes. Yes, I do.

Yes. I sell the products I make. But what these products do through the herbs chosen is lovely and restoring.

Hello, Friends!!

Remember that event I did over the weekend? Turns out Leon was right, I was over prepared!! Which benefits you!! If you've ever wanted to try or need to replenish it's a good time because fresh is always best and these are fresh!

All balms except lip balms are $6.50 for a 1-oz tin. Here's what I've got:

8 Baby Bum Balm
5 Wound & Burn Balm
8 Noggin Balm
2 Head to Heel Balm
3 Aching Muscles Balm

I have 8 each of Creamsicle and Peppermint Lip Balm and 4 Lavender-Rose tinted Lip Balm. Those I'm offering up for $1.50 each.

I do have some herbal bath blends and lotions available but I'll let you inquire about those if you're interested.

Shipping will be included in final total. I can do ApplePay, Venmo or you can head to the store and see what’s on sale.

I'll be out of town July 24-August 3 so the store will be closed but if I hear from you before noon tomorrow these can be sent out to you in the afternoon mail.

Let’s do a little sharing. About Honey’s Drawing Salve (see pic below)

I’ve mentioned how it works great after a scorpion sting but let me tell you...it does more.

This healing moment wasn’t really life changing but the person involved (me) was sure grateful for this black goodness. I noticed I had a small lump on my leg. Of course, I tried popping it like a pimple and got some infection out which seemed to help but then a day or two later, it’d be back.

Finally I made the salve, figuring I’d try on myself and see what happened.

The next morning, I spread a small amount over the area (fingertip amount), covered it and went on about my business. I repeated this ever few hours and that evening gave the lump a good squeeze. (I know, sounds gross or disgustingly satisfying). Easy peasy! Through a pore emerged not an alien but a foreign perfectly round, white rock-like object the size of pinhead...the large pins.

All those times I tried to get anything out and nothing did the trick until this! Yes, the pore returned to it’s normal self and I became a bigger believer than I already was.

A new week. A new chance to share a bit better!

Minnesota in May is nothing like Arizona in May. We haven’t hit 55 degrees yet. We’ve had more rain than sunshine.

BUT! Sun or no, herbal seedlings are popping through the soil in the warm and toasty basement. Pots and garden boxes are in place in the yard—just waiting to be filled. The sun has come out long enough for me to plant new roses and prune back some overgrowth. I’ve discovered an inherited rose bush I’m hoping will bloom with some attention.

Garden plans are in the making as are plans for a healing/meditation garden. Bees are humming in the trees. Chicken cackling and scratching.

A new Spring experience for these Arizona Natives but it will be glorious when it completely show up!

I cannot BELIEVE April is down to the last day tomorrow! I usually take time on Monday to share what I love about herbs but because I haven’t posted all month I thought I’d tell you what April looked like.

Challenges? Keeping ahead of myself. Even one step ahead was a challenge. I need to order more labels. More tins. More lip balm tubes. Making sure herbs are infusing. FB posts.

Successes? We got Honey’s name out there!! Our Barefoot in the Sun signature scent is a HUGE success! I got time with my son, his wife and son which was wonderful! Lots of opportunities to take care of others whether through consultations or product orders.

I love love love what I’m able to do with my life!

Honey’s Energetic Herbal Works has appeared quiet but let me tell you...on the backside, it’s been anything but quiet as we got ready for our first ever trade show which was part of a nursing conference. Rain, sleet and snow (which hit us hard today) didn’t stop us!! Huge success, some great lessons so we’re even better next time and now—I can sleep...until tomorrow.

Things are hopping here at home...Honey's Energetic Herbal Works, LLC is busy getting ready for a nursing trade show next week and I've gotten an order for Secretary's Day Gift Sets (which I'm calling Acknowledged With Love Gift Set) Which gave me an idea...

Brooklyn gets to earn money for her airline flights to swim camp in Utah this summer. To help her out--I thought she could do these gift sets with me and the proceeds could go to help her earn her money.

Each set includes: Handcrafted Lavender-Rose-Oats Soap, Lavender-Rose Bath Salts, Lavender-Rose Body Lotion, Lavender-Rose Balm (which is great for the summer heels!) and an original Lavender-Rose watercolor. Price is $45.

Tuesday's Tale! Ready?

One evening a really good friend, Janice Anway sent me text asking if I could help a couple of her friends who each had a family member with Cerebral Palsy. They were hoping to come up with something that would give these boys some ease.

We visited and came up with a plan. Using herbs like Holy Basil, Lemon Balm, Marjoram, Lavender and Peppermint I made up a salve they could have gently massaged into their limbs.

These herbs completely exceeded my hopes! Knowing each had suffered since birth I was anxious to see if we could bring them relief. One of these kids was younger than two and generally his condition got worse when he slept. However, after his grandmother used the salve, he was able to sleep and be still in her arms. The other was quite a bit older. His mom let me know he wasn't too sure he liked the affects of the salve--not because it didn't do what we hoped but because for the first time in his life his body was still and he wasn't sure what to do with himself.

All I could do was cry. It was the most humble experience I'd had on this journey, and spiritually connecting as I trusted the One who created these amazing herbs, who led me to them and the other techniques I have brought together in my service. This experience not only blessed the lives of these families and especially the kids but it blessed me.

The greatest thing about posting on a fairly regular basis is I get to really consider what I think. Today, what I love about herbs is this: herbs are the real deal. No artificial anything. Nothing added or taken away. Complete package. What a beautiful concept.
