Towson OB GYN

Towson OB GYN We're Your Provider for Obstetrical and Gynecological Care With that came the residency training program from Women’s Hospital. GBMC is our home.

In 1965, Greater Baltimore Medical Center, GBMC, was founded by the merging of the Women’s Hospital of Maryland and the Presbyterian Eye Hospital. This training program continued until 2002 and had a long tradition of training OBGYNs in the State of Maryland. Doctors Ginny Merryman and Dominique Allen are a product of that training program, which was at the forefront of minimally invasive surgery and a long transition of exceptional obstetrical care. We are dedicated to all aspects of the healthcare of women. Looking to the future and establishing a path to continue to provide care to future generations, we have two providers taking new patients: Amanda Nossel CRNP and Dr Mandy Mahle.

We have heard our patients' concerns loud and clear - they are seeking enhanced menopausal support. This year, both Dr. Allen and our Menopause Certified Nurse Practitioner Amanda Nossel attended the Menopause Conference. We look forward to providing comprehensive care to women navigating their peri and post-menopausal journey.

August 1-7 is World Breastfeeding Week!
🤱Whether you are working on breastfeeding, exclusively breastfeeding, pumping, or breast + formula feeding, we want you to know what an amazing mama you are!

🤱Breastfeeding is not only good for your baby but also good for mom’s health as well!
- 🫀Breastfeeding lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease
- 🏃‍♀️‍➡️It burns calories helping you lose that baby weight.
- It decreases the risk of breast and ovarian cancer

Breastfeeding is the best form of nutrition for your new baby
- 👶As your baby grows, your breast milk changes to adapt to baby’s changing needs!!
- 🍼Breast milk is easier for your baby to digest as compared to formula, decreasing the risk of constipation, acid reflux, and gas.
- 🦠Breast milk has antibodies to protect your baby against certain illnesses that can cause ear infections, diarrhea, respiratory infections, and allergies
- Breastfeeding decreases the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)

It is recommended that babies are exclusively fed breast milk for the first 6 months.

Whatever your method of feeding is, however, we are here to support you and your new baby!
