The evidence is out there: Greasy food doesn’t cause acne.
But high-sugar, highly processed foods can contribute to skin inflammation and flare-ups — especially for conditions like acne and rosacea.
Skin health is influenced by many things, and your plate might play a role.

A question we hear often in our practice is, “What sunscreen is best?”

While we each have our own favorites (Marleen’s go‑to is the Epionce Daily Shield Tinted SPF 50), it’s just as important to understand how different formulas work. Both mineral and chemical sunscreens can be excellent options when they’re matched to your skin type and daily routine.

Almost every skincare plan we recommend includes a high‑quality sunscreen. If you’d like help selecting the right one or want a professional evaluation of your skin, contact us at (615) 669‑2393 to schedule an appointment.

And remember — don't forget to wear your sunscreen!

There are two main types of sunscreen, and understanding the difference can help you protect your skin more effectively.

Mineral or physical sunscreens sit on top of the skin and reflect UV rays. Chemical sunscreens absorb UV rays and convert them into heat. Both are excellent options when applied correctly, but one may be better suited to your skin or daily routine.

If you are unsure which is right for you, we are happy to help you make the best choice for your skin’s health and comfort. Contact us at (615) 669-2393 to schedule a visit today.
