Looking forward to hosting this young man at our church tonight. Good luck to Phillip as he rides to raise awareness for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and funds for the "Love Your Brain" organization. This really hit home after my car wreck in January 2023 and knowing the persistent challenges following a severe concussion. Check out their website if you or anyone you love suffers from TBI. Looks like so many wonderful learning opportunities.

We’re celebrating as LoveYourBrain fundraiser Philip Case sets off for his 4,300 mile bike ride across the US! Today he departs from Yorktown, VA, and he’ll spend the summer riding for resilience across the country. To date, Philip has raised over $20,000 for LoveYourBrain’s programs and community through this epic adventure, redefining challenge as a force for positive impact so more people affected by brain injury can thrive.

Join us in cheering on this incredible human in the comments below! You can discover his route - and see if he’ll be riding near you - at the link in our stories today. Learn more about his fundraising journey at give.loveyourbrain.com/philip

Thank you, Philip, for your inspiration, impact, and making so much possible for our community! 🚲🎉

Never give up. Quincy Sierra, a legally blind sophomore XC runner at Ulysses HS, is back at it again for another year and doing what he loves to do. Sierra is pictured running in a meet this weekend in Hugoton with Noah Garcia, sophomore from Syracuse, who volunteered to run with Quincy as his lead runner after he didn’t have one at a different meet this season. Quincy ran a 21:38 which is his best time yet. This is what small towns and sportsmanship are all about, helping and picking each other up. Sierra found his love for the sport in junior high, a story we first featured three years ago that went viral for millions of views across the world, then running with his coach. What an inspiration that Quincy & Noah are to all of us across the state and beyond.

February is Low Vision Awareness Month!

Low vision is not quite a complete loss of sight but enough of a loss that the individual's vision cannot be fixed with glasses, contact lenses, or other standard treatments. Millions of individuals worldwide have a vision impairment or are considered to have low vision.

Thankfully, there are amazing vision rehabilitation specialists who can help provide tips and training, and recommend products that help those with low vision continue to do the things they love independently after losing vision!

You can learn more about low vision, find fact sheets and articles on vision rehabilitation here - https://www.nei.nih.gov/learn-about-eye-health/eye-conditions-and-diseases/low-vision
